Forget big bus tours, cruises and forced group bonding – those single person holidays are a thing of the past. Today, solo travel is completely flexible and puts the power into your own hands. Planning your own solo travel trip is exciting. You can finally indulge your wildest travel fantasies to create an itinerary that is completely personal to you.

Solo travel allows a certain level of freedom that travelling with somebody else or with a group simply cannot replicate. Many solo travellers prefer to leave days or weeks of their itinerary unplanned so that they can see where the wind takes them. Others, and those working on more of a budget, will book everything in advance to secure the best prices on flights and accommodation. Whether you’re a seasoned solo traveller or new to the experience, booking an activity break as part of your itinerary is a fantastic idea – allowing you an insight into local culture that you may have been unlikely to see otherwise.

Singles holidays FAQs

What is a solo activity holiday?

When you join one of our solo holidays, you’ll also meet other travellers who are doing the same. As part of a small group, all linked with a common interest, at the end of the trip you’ll fly home with lifelong friends. Don’t forget that you also have downtime to build upon those friendships and explore on your own terms.

Creative souls can pursue photography, jewellery making or painting holidays whereas more active types may choose horse riding or watersports holidays like surfing or scuba diving instead. Passionate foodies can opt for cookery holidays or wine tasting experiences, while relaxation-lovers may decide on yoga holidays or wellness breaks. Language learners can discover French, Spanish and other language holidays around the world.

Or, if you have multiple interests, you can always combine them. Try surfing and yoga in Morocco or cookery and jewellery making in France. Mix Spanish with photography in Costa Rica or yoga and detox in Spain.

Who are our singles holiday guests?

Our solo travellers can’t be defined – they’re people in their 20’s all the way to their 80’s, and hail from countries all over the world. Some have always travelled solo, others are experiencing their freedom for the first time.

All that’s required is a passion for travel and an inquisitive mind. Thousands of people have already discovered that our eclectic mix of singles holidays are as diverse as the people who go on them. Whether you’re looking for a singles holiday in your 20s, in your 30s, or even in your 50s, come and join them.

Do I have to pay a single supplement?

You should never be penalised for travelling solo, so none of our solo activity holidays have single supplements.

Sometimes that means sharing a room with another traveller and sometimes it means a private room and ensuite all to yourself – like everything else about our solos holidays, you can find the style that suits you, your needs and your budget.

Frequently asked questions

Are all NITGB experiences ‘on request’?
As we work with local hosts, in most cases we need to check with them that they can accommodate your customers availability request.  This can take up to 48 hours however our hosts are very responsive and often come back to us within 24 hours. We do have a number of experiences on the website however that have live availability and are able to be booked immediately.  The easiest way to identify whether something is on request is if it has a pink button saying ‘check availability’.    If you are able to book immediately the pink button will say ‘book now’.
Do NITGB overseas multi day experiences include flights?
We do not include flights with any of our experiences. This allows you and your customer to tailor make their trip centred around one of our longer itineraries or simply adding day experiences to an existing package. Should you wish to package one of our experiential trips with flights and do not have the ability to dynamically package or have an ATOL, we work with a number of tour operators including Travelpack who will happily add flights to any of our experiences.
