    Overview

Argentina stands defiantly and passionately as one of the most compelling destinations in the world. Incredible natural wonders, mighty waterfalls and towering mountains, sizzlingly addictive cities that echo with the shouts of football fans and notes of tango, Argentina has it all.

Whether in the picturesque hills of wine-loving Mendoza, the mighty Andes or the wilds of Patagonia, there is an essence that ties the country together in a haze of grilling meat and gaucho culture, of passionate locals and a very proud, very European heritage.

There aren’t many countries you can find arid plains and deep forests, quiet dusty bookshops and atmospheric Italian restaurants, or lush jungle and towering mountains, but Argentina is a country that’ll satisfy the wanderlust of any traveller.

Argentina spans a huge range of latitudes, so the seasons feel strikingly different depending on where you are. Summer (December–February) brings long, hot days to Buenos Aires and the north, while Patagonia is at its most accessible; this is peak tourism season. Autumn (March–May) is cooler and calmer, with wine harvests in Mendoza and fewer crowds. Winter (June–August) sees snow in the Andes and ski season in Bariloche, while the north stays mild. Spring (September–November) offers blossoms, warming temperatures and a sweet spot for travel before the summer rush.
