The South Coast probably has the most stunning and awe inspiring landscapes in Iceland. The largest glaciers, most famous volcanoes, most dramatic cliffs and beautiful waterfalls combine to make up extremely varied landscapes which are only a few hours’ driving distance from Reykjavík. On this trip you will get to see them all at your own pace.

The trip starts with a relaxing soak in the Blue Lagoon to de-compress and get in the holiday mood as you bathe in the mineral rich warm geothermal lagoon. Your adventure continues on the Golden Circle route, where you will see amazing waterfalls and erupting geysers.

On to the South Coast road you will be immersed in the vast and beautiful rugged landscape, which is considered to be the most beautiful part of the country, with stunning views.

From there you will visit the Glacial Lagoon and the Skaftafell National Park. Finally you will head back to Reykjavik for a day of adventure in the capital.

Arrival & The First Immersion

You arrive into Keflavík and collect your vehicle—your key to freedom, your companion for the days ahead. The road stretches out into a volcanic silence, and soon you find yourself drifting towards the Blue Lagoon, where milky waters breathe steam into the sky.

You slip into warmth that feels almost ancient. Silica against your skin, mineral-rich waters holding you weightless—this is not simply a spa, it is an initiation into Iceland’s elemental rhythm.

Later, you continue into Reykjavík, where the city hums quietly against the sea. You settle in for the night, the soft glow of the harbour hinting at what lies beyond.

South Coast Beginnings

You wake to your first Icelandic morning and begin tracing the South Coast, where every mile feels like a revelation.

At Seljalandsfoss, you step behind the falling water, seeing the world through a veil. At Skógafoss, you stand before sheer power, mist rising and rainbows forming without effort.

Then the coastline shifts—Reynisfjara, where black sand meets a restless Atlantic. Basalt columns rise like organ pipes, and the sea demands respect. You continue eastward, the landscapes growing wilder, until you reach your remote stay surrounded by lava fields and vast skies.

Ice and Stillness

You drive deeper into Iceland’s raw heart, where glaciers loosen their grip on time.

At Jökulsárlón, icebergs drift in slow silence, each one a fragment of something ancient. Seals move between them, curious and unhurried. Just beyond, Diamond Beach glitters—ice scattered like gemstones across volcanic sand.

You may wander further to Fjallsárlón, quieter, less touched. Here, the stillness deepens. You return to your hotel as the light stretches long into the evening.

Cliffs, Glaciers & Space to Breathe

You begin to turn westward, but the landscape refuses to repeat itself.

At Dyrhólaey, you stand above the ocean, watching waves carve stories into the cliffs. Birdlife dances along the wind currents, and the horizon feels infinite.

At Sólheimajökull, you approach a glacier shaped by time and change. You don’t step onto it—but even from its edge, the textures, the silence, the scale linger with you.

You continue to Hella, where your countryside retreat offers space, calm, and a slower pace.

Super Jeep into Iceland's Wild Heart

Today, the road ends—and something more untamed begins.

You trade your car for a Super Jeep, crossing rivers that refuse bridges, entering Þórsmörk, a valley carved between glaciers. You hike through landscapes that feel untouched, where green valleys meet ice-capped peaks.

At Gígjökull, you witness the aftermath of eruption and time, where nature reshapes itself without apology. You pause for a light lunch, surrounded by a silence that feels earned.

By evening, you return—changed, perhaps subtly, perhaps not.

The Golden Circle

You journey into Iceland’s most storied landscapes.

At Þingvellir, you walk between continents—where tectonic plates drift apart and history took root. At Geysir, the earth breathes and erupts, unpredictably yet inevitably.

Then Gullfoss—water thundering into a canyon, ancient and relentless. It’s a finale of force before you return to Reykjavík, where the city now feels familiar.

Reykjavík at Your Pace

You step gently into your final full day.

Reykjavík unfolds slowly—cafés, galleries, quiet streets. You may wander the harbour, climb the church tower, or simply pause and reflect. Optional experiences—lava shows, immersive flights—offer new perspectives if you seek them.

Or perhaps you do nothing at all. Because sometimes, the most meaningful moments come in stillness.

Departure

Sadly, today is your departure day. Drive to Keflavik airport and drop off your car. It’s time to say goodbye to Iceland, but there is so much more to see. We look forward to welcoming you back for your next visit!
