Alternatives to Lapland: Arctic Lakeland

Everybody knows how incredible and unique Lapland is, but you may also be wondering what alternatives to Lapland there are. What makes Lapland so special is its remoteness, beautiful landscapes, unique activities and being the home of Santa. However, there are certain downsides to Lapland, like its popularity often making it hard to find availability in the Christmas period. That is where the Arctic Lakeland comes in. Located in Finland, just south of Lapland, the Arctic Lakeland is one of the most beautiful regions of Finland, with more bodies of water than any other region in the world. As alternatives to Lapland, the Arctic Lakeland is a great way to enjoy all the fun and unique activities of Lapland, without the high demands and packed hotels. Not only that but the Arctic Lakeland region won SOA travel destination award in 2024, the jurors said of the area;

Arctic Lakeland impressed the jury with an exciting year-round concept and an interesting mix for both outdoor enthusiasts and tour operators. The application included a detailed description of the region, outdoor concepts and a strong focus on sustainability. A trailblazer for an outstanding outdoor destination.

Our range of products in the Arctic Lakeland feature exciting activities and a range of premium and luxury accommodations that will provide you with the unique experience you’re looking for. Here are some of the perks of choosing our alternative to Lapland.
