What You'll Do

Enjoy this 5 night crochet retreat in Tuscany. You will work on your project and go on excursions to the surrounding area and even the vibrant city of Florence, making for an unforgettable holiday.

On this retreat, you will be joined by a crochet expert to help you out along the way. So you don’t have to have any experience to join us and have a fun time.

Alongside your crochet workshops, you will get to relax in the stunning villa and take in the breathtaking views of the rolling hills. As well as going on excursions to learn about the surrounding area and even to the city of Florence.

On top of this, you will even get to enjoy a wine tasting excursion where you will get to taste some great wine and also learn about the production process and what makes Tuscan wine so unique.

Experience Itinerary

Arrival

Upon arrival in Italy, you will be met by your private driver. This is available from Pisa and Florence airports as well as Lucca train station.

Once you have checked in and unpacked, we will gather for a relaxed afternoon crochet workshop in the villa. Following this, you can enjoy an authentic dinner prepared by the private chef, paired with some excellent Italian wine.

After dinner, you will have time to relax and unwind before getting a good night sleep ahead of your following day of activity.

Villa Selva – The 350 year old rustic Tuscan style farmhouse is located on the panoramic hill of Pieve Santo Stefano overlooks the town of Lucca. The spacious villa is also equip with a pool and loungers for you to relax on during your free time. In the middle of the rolling Italian hills, there is no better place for a crochet retreat.

Outdoor Workshop and Wine Tasting

After breakfast, you will need to get ready for the first session of the day which will be an outdoor workshop with breathtaking views of the hills of Lucca.

Lunch will be prepared by the private chef at around 1pm after which we will continue to work on our morning project before heading out together.

In the afternoon, you can enjoy a visit to Fabbrica San Martino, a bio-dynamic winery for a wine tasting. Learn some more about Italian wine and how to pair it perfectly with food. Following this, we head back to villa where a 3 course Tuscan dinner and some more wine awaits.

Walking Tour and City Crochet Session

After breakfast, we will start our morning crochet session. Following this, we head out on a guided walking tour of Lucca. Learn more about the area’s history and culture and even get to enjoy an authentic lunch in the town.

We will bring our projects along on this walk to allow us to do an afternoon session in one of the town’s picturesque locations.

In the evening, you will get to enjoy a world renowned Puccini concert which takes places in a Romanesque church. Afterwards, you will get to enjoy a dinner at one of the best local restaurants in Lucca, making for a great day.

Crocheting in Florence

After breakfast, we head straight out to the vibrant city of Florence. You will have some time to see the best sights that the city has to offer including Campolmi Filati and enjoy some time in a fabulous location hand-picked and accompanied by local crochet and knitting artist Hailey Hodge.

We head back to the villa in the early evening to freshen up and prepare for a pizza festival.

Crocheting

After a later breakfast, you will have a morning crochet workshop to finish up your projects. Following the completion of your work, we will have lunch before our final session of the trip.

The final session will consist of the group showing each other what they have accomplished during the week and explaining their work over prosecco and appetisers.

You will then get the chance to enjoy the final evening with a dinner fiesta whilst watching the sunset over the hills of Lucca.

Departure Day

After breakfast, you will have to check out and head home. However, feel free to enjoy your last moments in the villa before heading off. You will get transported to your place of departure as we bid you farewell on your way home or further on with your travels.

Location Information

This retreat will take place just outside the historic city of Lucca. Surrounded by rolling hills and wildlife, the villa is located perfectly to allow for you to soak in the tranquility of the Italian countryside whilst also being close enough to the Tuscan city to go and appreciate the beautiful city.

The city is located on the Serchio River, when paired with the climate it allows for the region to be in a great location for wine production as you will learn on your retreat.
