Venture out into the Tuscan countryside to hunt and learn to cook one of the most sought after ingredients in Italian cuisine - truffle. Enjoy incredible homecooked meals, great local wines and traditional expeditions on this unique 3-night experience.

In a charming area of Tuscany, a region world-renowned for its incredible food and fine wines, you’ll find a picturesque Italian farmhouse tucked away in lush hills and valleys, nearby to the historic medieval city of Arezzo.

This will be the setting for your unforgettable experience of Italian cuisine, where you will truly immerse yourself in the country’s fantastic culture, all under the watchful eye of Chef Fabrizio, your host. He will help you thoroughly enjoy every aspect of your holiday and come away feeling relaxed and inspired by the incredible food you have prepared.

Learn authentic Italian recipes and cooking techniques, from foraging to preparation to seasoning, so that you can return home an absolute expert in the kitchen.

Enjoy scenic woodland walks with trained truffle hunting dogs, learning all about this age-old practice and traditional foraging practice in beautiful settings, before heading home to prepare and eat delicious, truffle based dishes in the classic Tuscan style.

You’ll also get to experience the stunning Tiberna Valley and the history and culture of Arezzo, topping off what is already a great experience of Italian life in Tuscany and a truly relaxing weekend.

You’ll acquire great knowledge of the surrounding area and its culture & history during a guided tour of Arezzo and the Tiberina Valley. Experience Itinerary

Arrival & Cooking Lesson

Meet at Arezzo train station where you’ll be transferred free of charge to the farmhouse. Arrive at the farmhouse for an aperitif with your hosts, Chef Fabrizio and the villa host, Marina, and enjoy your first lesson tasting prosecco with a welcome snack buffet.

In the late afternoon, around 4-5pm, you will enjoy your first cooking lesson with Chef Fabrizio where you will prepare a delicious 3 or 4 course meal, where you will then sit down and eat together.

Enjoy a cookery holiday set in the heart of Tuscany just 6km outside of the historic Etruscan and Roman city of Arezzo which is nestled within easy reach of the more well-known towns of Siena and Florence.

Escape the city and immerse yourself in the stillness and beauty of the Tuscan countryside. You’ll stay in a former farmhouse, perched on a hillside with panoramic views. Not only is the area famous for its food, but it is also the perfect location in which to enjoy hiking, biking or even horse riding along the countryside trails that surround the farmhouse.

Arezzo Tour & Free Time

After breakfast, enjoy a cultural excursion of the Tiberina valley. Lunch (and drinks) are included at a local family-run restaurant. Spend the afternoon on a hike through the woods, searching for precious truffles with the help of experienced guides and trained dogs. In the evening, return to the house for a delicious pizza or calzone dinner prepared by your Chef (and join in the preparation if you wish).

Cooking Lesson & Winery Tour

After breakfast, you’ll have your last cooking class where you’ll focus on elaborate techniques using the scavenged products of the forest to make a unique lunch. You will have a free afternoon to relax by the pool or enjoy the grounds of the villa. In the evening, sit down to a meal prepared by your Chef at the villa that will again showcase some of the woodland favourites.

Departure

Today is your last morning and after breakfast, check out and be transferred back to Arezzo station for your journey home.

A wonderful experience set in the beautiful Tuscan countryside. Chef and guide Fabrizio certainly went the extra mile to ensure my holiday was personalised, informative and fun. The Truffle hunting walk in the hills was a fantastic experience I shall never forget.

By train:
The nearest train station is Arezzo which is 8km away from the villa.

From Florence:
There is an organized shuttle service from Florence airport Peretola to the Santa Maria Novella railway station in the centre of Florence. Buses go every day, from 5:30am to 8:30pm and run every 30 minutes.

Journey time: 20-30 minutes

The bus departure point from the airport is just outside the terminal building, when you pass the taxi stands you will see the bus stop.
The bus departure point from the city centre (SMN railway station) is at Via Santa Caterina da Siena n.17, just across the street from the railway station building.
