Take a walk on the wild side and trek through the snowy fells in your snowshoes to experience the magic and wonder of the northern lights.
In the quiet forest, the only sound is the crunching snow as you pick your way over the snowdrifts that can get up to one-meter-thick. You’ll be winding your way through the deep, impossibly still forest in your snowshoes, past the trees bent under heavy layers of snow, just as people have done for hundreds of years.
The slumbering forest is lit only by the moon and the millions of stars, so that you feel connected to the ancient nature and truly off the beaten track.
In the vast fells, a cozy hut is waiting for you to build a fire and enjoy hot drinks and snacks to warm your bones whilst you wait for the northern lights to flare up on your Lapland adventure.
With any luck, you get to be witness to nature’s most magnificent show as the rippling waves of the Northern Lights fan out across the inky black sky and illuminate the glowing white snow beneath, stretching out in an endless expanse to the horizon.

I was born and raised in Finland and for the last twenty years now I've been offering authentic, immersive experiences in the region of Lapland. Originally, I worked with my sister as operations manager for her tour company. So, finding, sourcing and planning trips and excursions and this equipped me with a vast knowledge of the area and the tours that were being offered.
This tour runs from Saariselkä, at a resort village in northern Finland, deep in the heart of Lapland.
Once on you strap on your snowshoes, you’ll set off into the wilderness to experience incredible scenery away from the relative bustle of the towns. This will give you the best chance of capturing the lights at their best.
Guests must meet at the reception of the resort, 15 minutes prior to start. Groups who require thermal clothing, must meet at the safari house of the resort, 30 minutes prior to start.
