With four nights, this romantic Arctic escape opens further — allowing time not just to experience Lapland, but to truly inhabit it. Designed exclusively for couples, this stay balances curated adventure with long, unstructured moments where the wilderness sets the tempo.

Your days unfold naturally. You share husky adventures through silent forests, explore wide Arctic landscapes by snowmobile, and connect with Lapland’s cultural roots through reindeer encounters. All experiences take place in small groups, ensuring a relaxed, personal feel while allowing you to retreat back into your own shared space at the end of each day.

That space is your Arctic Glass Suite — the most romantic, spacious, and deluxe accommodation on offer. Here, luxury is understated but deeply felt: your own private sauna, panoramic glass walls, and uninterrupted views of snow, sky, and river. It is a place made for lingering mornings, slow evenings, and the quiet anticipation of aurora-lit nights.

As darkness falls, the focus turns inward and upward. You move between saunas and snow, fireside conversations and candlelit dinners. Some nights are social, others beautifully solitary. And when the Northern Lights appear — whether faint or vivid — they feel like a gift, not a promise.

This longer stay is ideal for couples who want depth rather than density: more time to slow down, more room for connection, and more chances to experience Lapland at its most intimate and refined.

Note: This is a romantic package for two, with accommodation in a private Arctic Glass Suite. Please note that included activities are shared with a small group, rather than being completely private, ensuring a relaxed and social atmosphere while preserving personal space.

*Per person cost based on arriving on in April

A full example itinerary is detailed below, activity timings can differ slightly, your own personal schedule will be given to you upon check in.

Arrival in Lapland

Your journey into the Arctic begins quietly, with a smooth transfer from Kittilä Airport into the snowy stillness of Lapland. As the road slips deeper into the winter landscape, the pace slows — a gentle transition from everyday life to something more elemental, more intimate.

On arrival at your resort, you settle into your Arctic Glass Suite, a private cocoon designed for two. Glass walls frame the surrounding forest and sky, blurring the line between indoors and out, comfort and wilderness. Depending on your arrival time, you’ll be fitted with your thermal winter clothing either this evening or the following morning — a practical ritual that ensures the days ahead are spent focused on experience, not temperature.

The first evening is intentionally unhurried. Time to unpack, breathe, and let the Arctic atmosphere sink in. As darkness gathers outside, dinner is served in the restaurant — a relaxed introduction to Nordic flavours and warm hospitality. It’s a simple, grounding close to the day, setting the tone for a journey shaped by shared moments, quiet luxury, and the vast northern landscape waiting just beyond the glass.

Husky Adventure

Your journey begins at the husky farm, where eager dogs greet you, ready to run. After a short introduction and time to learn how to handle the sled, you set off in pairs, taking turns as driver and passenger. Over the course of approximately two hours, you travel 10–12 km through snow-laden forests and across frozen swamps, the sled gliding smoothly as the dogs find their rhythm.

The pace allows time to feel the landscape as much as the movement — wind on your face, breath clouding in the cold air, and the quiet pull of the team carrying you deeper into Lapland’s winter wilderness.

This is not simply about the ride. It’s about sharing time with the dogs, trusting the trail, and experiencing the Arctic in a way that feels both powerful and deeply connected.

Snowmobile Scenery Tour

There’s a particular kind of freedom that comes from moving together through wide, silent spaces — engines humming softly, snow stretching endlessly ahead.

This scenic snowmobile tour takes you 20–30 km through the open landscapes of Muonio, gliding across frozen lakes and weaving through quiet forests where the Arctic feels vast and untouched. Over the course of around two hours, the route unfolds at a steady, comfortable pace, designed to let you absorb the scenery as much as the ride itself.

You travel together on the snowmobile, sharing the experience and switching drivers along the way so each of you has time at the controls and time to simply take in the view. Wrapped close against the cold, the journey becomes a shared rhythm — movement, silence, and the sense of being far from anywhere else.

It’s not about speed or bravado. It’s about covering ground side by side, feeling the scale of Lapland around you, and letting the landscape quietly shape the moment.

Aurora Campfire Experience

Some evenings don’t need movement — just warmth, quiet, and the right place to pause.

As night settles over the forest, you travel by snowmobile-pulled sled into the stillness of Lapland’s wilderness, leaving light and noise far behind. The journey is gentle, unhurried, designed to ease you into the rhythm of the Arctic night rather than rush through it.

At a secluded campfire spot, you gather by the flames for around two hours, wrapped in warmth as a hot drink is poured and the fire crackles softly beside you. Conversation ebbs and flows, or falls away entirely, replaced by the simple act of watching the sky. On clear nights, stars stretch endlessly overhead. And sometimes — quietly, without warning — the Northern Lights appear, shifting and glowing above the treetops.

For many locals, the campfire is their “Lappish TV” — a place to slow down, connect, and let nature lead the evening. Shared together, it becomes an intimate moment of stillness, where time feels less important than presence.

A calm, atmospheric way to experience Lapland at night — best enjoyed side by side.

Local Reindeer Experience with Sleigh Ride

This is Lapland at its most timeless — quiet, grounded, and shaped by the steady rhythm of reindeer life.

Your experience begins at a traditional reindeer farm, where the pace immediately softens. You explore a historic farmhouse and small museum, learning about everyday life in the North and the traditions that have guided reindeer herding through the seasons. Stories shared by your guide bring context to the landscape around you, and you’re invited to try throwing a suopunki, the traditional Lappish lasso used by herders for generations.

After meeting the reindeer up close, you step into a sleigh and set off into the forest. Over the course of around two and a half hours, the journey unfolds at the reindeer’s natural pace. The 3 km route moves gently through snowy woodland — sometimes starting with an eager trot, then settling into a calm, unhurried rhythm that reflects how people have travelled across Lapland’s winter landscape for centuries.

This is not about speed or spectacle. It’s about understanding place, tradition, and a way of life that still moves in harmony with the Arctic winter.

Arctic Sauna & Signature Dinner

This is an evening designed to unfold slowly — a seamless blend of warmth, water, and shared indulgence, set against the stillness of a frozen Arctic lake.

Your Signature evening begins at Arctic Sauna World, where you’re welcomed by a sauna host beside the snow-covered shoreline outside Lakeside Restaurant Jierra. An Arctic aperitif awaits at the outdoor ice bar, a crisp, ceremonial start that sharpens the senses and marks the transition into a different pace of time.

Together, you move through the sauna world in your own rhythm — from deep, enveloping heat to the bracing clarity of the outdoors, steam rising into the night air. There’s no schedule to follow, only the quiet ritual of warmth and cold, rest and renewal, experienced side by side as darkness settles over the lake.

After the sauna, the evening flows naturally into dinner. In a lakeside setting glowing with firelight, a Signature Dinner is served — refined yet grounded, with part of the meal prepared over an open flame by the chef. The atmosphere is intimate and unhurried, shaped by flickering light, reflected snow, and the simple pleasure of sharing something special together.

This is Harriniva at its most expressive: understated luxury, Arctic wellbeing, and a sense of occasion that lingers long after the evening ends.

Departure from Lapland

The final morning arrives softly. After breakfast, there’s time to step outside once more — to breathe in the cold, watch the light shift across the snow, and take in the stillness that has framed your days here.

Lunch is included before your transfer back to Kittilä Airport, a gentle close to the journey rather than a rushed ending. The road back winds through familiar winter landscapes, now carrying a different weight — moments shared, silence enjoyed, experiences absorbed rather than collected.

As you leave Lapland behind, you don’t take souvenirs so much as sensations: the hush of the forest, the glow of firelight, the feeling of standing together beneath a wide northern sky. The magic doesn’t announce itself. It lingers — long after the snow disappears from view.

Our hosts are committed to ensuring that Lapland’s pristine wilderness and cultural traditions are protected for generations to come. To achieve this, they are: Developing certified sustainable resorts – all their destinations now hold the Sustainable Travel Finland label, alongside Green Key and Good Travel Seal certifications, which require continuous improvements in environmental and social responsibility. Reducing environmental impact – energy and water use are carefully managed, waste is minimised, and recycling is prioritised throughout the resorts. Respecting local culture and heritage – by working closely with the Sámi community, promoting traditional skills, and protecting “everyman’s rights” of access to nature. Supporting local economy – ingredients are sourced locally where possible, traditional wild foods are celebrated, and activities are designed to benefit the surrounding communities. Innovating for the future – Harriniva invests in ongoing projects that focus on renewable energy, sustainable building practices, and low-impact activity design, ensuring tourism remains in balance with nature.

Location

The resort is located in the heart of Finnish Lapland, on the banks of the Muonio River at the Swedish border. Surrounded by untouched wilderness, it offers an authentic Arctic base with direct access to huskies, reindeer, and snowmobile trails. Family-run for decades, the resort combines traditional Lapland hospitality with unforgettable wilderness experiences.

Its riverside setting provides both tranquillity and dramatic scenery, and with almost no light pollution, the dark skies are perfect for northern lights viewing. The transfer from Kittilä Airport takes around one hour, making the resort easily accessible while still feeling wonderfully remote.

FAQs

When can I go?

Trips run all through the winter season from 27th December to mid April. Please note this experience doesn't run before 27th December.

What food is served during the stay?

Meals are served buffet-style in the resort’s main restaurant, with a focus on hearty Lappish and Scandinavian dishes — think warming soups, stews, roasted meats, fresh fish, and seasonal vegetables. International favourites are also available, ensuring a variety of tastes are catered for. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options can be provided on request.

As part of this Romantic package, you'll also enjoy a Signature Dinner Experience on one evening — a luxurious blend of Arctic wellbeing and authentic Lappish flavours. Your evening begins with an Arctic Sauna World session by the frozen lake, including a traditional Finnish sauna ritual and aperitif at the ice bar. Afterwards, savour a chef-prepared dinner by open fire in the elegant lakeside Restaurant Jierra, featuring premium local ingredients in a truly atmospheric setting.

Complimentary tea, coffee, and soft drinks are included during mealtimes.

What should I pack?

You’ll be provided with warm winter clothing for the duration of your stay, including boots, thermal overalls, gloves, and a hat. We recommend bringing thermal base layers, woollen socks, a fleece or jumper, and good quality gloves or mittens to wear underneath the outer clothing. Sunglasses can be useful on bright snowy days, and don’t forget swimwear if your accommodation includes a sauna or jacuzzi.

Can children book onto this package?

Unfortunately not, this is an adults only experience.

Will I see the Northern Lights?

The resort lies far above the Arctic Circle, one of the best places in the world to see the aurora borealis. While sightings can never be guaranteed, clear nights away from artificial light offer excellent chances. Many accommodations offer aurora alerts, so you won’t miss them if they appear.

What’s the weather like?

Lapland winters are cold, crisp, and snowy, with temperatures often between –5°C and –25°C. The snow usually arrives in November and lasts until April. December is especially magical with short daylight hours, twilight skies, and excellent chances of snow. Thanks to the dry air, the cold feels more comfortable than you might expect.
