Depending on your arrival time, you will be fitted with your thermal winter clothing either this evening or the following morning, ensuring you stay snug and warm throughout your stay. The first evening is all about relaxing, enjoying your surroundings, and soaking in the excitement of being in Lapland. Dinner is served in the restaurant, where you can sample hearty Nordic dishes and prepare for the adventures ahead.

Husky Safari & Reindeer Experience

The most sought-after experience in Lapland is to ride with the huskies, and it’s easy to see why. After a short introduction to the route and safety instructions, you set off into the forest for a 1.5-hour adventure. In this package, the sled is driven by professional handlers, leaving you free to sit back, relax, and take in the beauty of the wilderness. For something more playful, you can grab a toboggan and race down snowy slopes, or try out a traditional Finnish kick sled, sliding effortlessly across the snow and ice. These self-guided activities give you the freedom to explore and have fun in your own way, surrounded by the magic of Lapland’s wilderness.

Magical meeting with Santa

While you await your turn to meet the big man himself, there’s plenty of festive fun to enjoy outdoors. Try your hand at cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, join in a game of snowy floorball or football, or let the little ones zip around on mini skidoos – all surrounded by the magic of the Arctic wilderness.

When it’s time, each family will follow a lantern-lit trail winding through the forest – a quiet, enchanting walk that leads to a private meeting with Santa Claus. Inside his cabin, Santa takes time to speak with every child, sharing stories and smiles, and giving each little guest a small, thoughtful gift to treasure.

Departure from Lapland

After breakfast, there’s time to enjoy the wintry surroundings one last time. Lunch is included before your transfer back to Kittilä Airport. As you depart, you’ll carry with you the magic of Lapland – the huskies, the reindeer, the thrill of snowmobiling, and, of course, memories of meeting Santa in his snowy home.

Aurora Evening Walk (2hrs)

This guided evening walk takes place after dark, leading you through snowy landscapes away from artificial light. The route is easy and unhurried, making it suitable for families and anyone looking for a gentle nighttime experience.

Your guide leads you to a campfire location where warm drinks and cookies are served. From here, you spend time observing the northern sky. On clear nights, stars are visible and, with favourable conditions, the Northern Lights may appear.

The focus is on experiencing the calm and stillness of Lapland at night rather than covering distance or speed.

Arctic Sauna World Experience (2hrs)

Arctic Sauna World is located by the shores of Lake Jerisjärvi and offers a traditional Finnish sauna experience in a natural setting. The visit includes access to several themed saunas, each inspired by nature.
Between sauna sessions, guests may step outside and enter the ice-cold lake. A panoramic lounge area is available for relaxing and enjoying views of the lake and surrounding landscape.

This experience follows the Finnish approach to wellbeing, combining heat, cold, and time spent outdoors.

Aurora Snowmobile Experience (5–10km, 2hrs)

This nighttime snowmobile experience takes you into the Arctic landscape in search of the Northern Lights. The guided route covers approximately 5–10 km, travelling through snowy forests and open areas chosen for their viewing conditions.

Adults may drive a snowmobile alone or share with another adult, with the opportunity to change drivers during the excursion. Children travel in a snowmobile sleigh pulled by the guide. Stops are made along the route to observe the sky.

The experience combines snowmobiling with periods of stationary viewing under the northern sky.

The resort is located in the heart of Finnish Lapland, on the banks of the Muonio River at the Swedish border. Surrounded by untouched wilderness, it offers an authentic Arctic base with direct access to huskies, reindeer, and snowmobile trails. Family-run for decades, the resort combines traditional Lapland hospitality with unforgettable wilderness experiences.

Its riverside setting provides both tranquillity and dramatic scenery, and with almost no light pollution, the dark skies are perfect for northern lights viewing. The transfer from Kittilä Airport takes around one hour, making the resort easily accessible while still feeling wonderfully remote.

FAQs

What food is served during the stay?

Meals are served buffet-style in the resort’s main restaurant, with a focus on hearty Lappish and Scandinavian dishes designed to keep you warm and satisfied after a day outdoors. Expect comforting options such as soups, stews, roasted meats, fresh fish, and seasonal vegetables, alongside international favourites that suit all tastes.

Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are available on request, and children are well catered for with simpler dishes. Complimentary tea, coffee, and soft drinks for children are available during meal times

What should I pack?

You’ll be provided with warm winter clothing for the duration of your stay, including boots, thermal overalls, gloves, and a hat. We recommend bringing thermal base layers, woollen socks, a fleece or jumper, and good quality gloves or mittens to wear underneath the outer clothing. Sunglasses can be useful on bright snowy days, and don’t forget swimwear if your accommodation includes a sauna or jacuzzi.

Can children take part in the activities?

Yes, many activities are family-friendly, and children are welcome. Special snow fun areas with mini skidoos and games are designed for younger guests. Some safaris, such as snowmobiling, have age restrictions — drivers must be at least 18 years old with a valid licence, while younger children will ride in a sled pulled by the guide’s snowmobile.

Can infants book onto this trip?

Yes. Infants aged 0–1 years can be booked onto this programme and stay free of charge. However, they cannot take part in the activities, as these are not suitable or safe for very young children. Parents are welcome to bring infants along and enjoy the holiday, but participation in safaris and excursions is limited to older children (aged 2+) and adults. Don’t worry, though — they will still be able to meet Santa during the special family visit.

Please note that winter thermal clothing is not provided for this age group, so parents must pack appropriate warm clothing for them.

Will I see the Northern Lights?

The resort lies far above the Arctic Circle, one of the best places in the world to see the aurora borealis. While sightings can never be guaranteed, clear nights away from artificial light offer excellent chances. Many accommodations offer aurora alerts, so you won’t miss them if they appear.

What’s the weather like?

Lapland winters are cold, crisp, and snowy, with temperatures often between –5°C and –25°C. The snow usually arrives in November and lasts until April. December is especially magical with short daylight hours, twilight skies, and excellent chances of snow. Thanks to the dry air, the cold feels more comfortable than you might expect.

Who can take part in the snowmobile safari?

The minimum age to drive a snowmobile is 18 years, and you must hold a valid driving licence.

Children under 4 years old travel in a sleigh with their parent.
Children aged 4–11 sit together in a sleigh, while those aged 12–14 ride as passengers with the guide.
From the age of 15, young people can ride as a passenger with their parent.

Can children take part in the husky safari?

Yes. Families ride comfortably in the guide’s sled, making the experience suitable for children of all ages (of 2 and older).
Adults-only bookings may drive their own sleds.

What is included in the Santa experience?

The Santa experience is a joyful family activity filled with festive fun. Children can ride mini snowmobiles, play snow games, and race down toboggan hills, with warm drinks provided to keep everyone cosy.

The highlight is a private visit for each family with Santa himself, guided by your own elf. Every child receives a special gift from Santa, making this a truly magical memory.
