What the guidebooks don't tell you, Inari

We like to be transparent about our adventure holidays, so here are a few things we think you should know:

Pack layers: Lapland’s weather can be unpredictable. Bring thermal underwear, fleece layers, and a waterproof outer shell to stay comfortable in any conditions. Your hosts provide a lot of the clothes you’ll need, but make sure you pack your thermals.

Try local cuisine: Don’t miss Lappish delicacies like reindeer stew, arctic char, and cloudberry desserts. They’re not just meals, but a taste of local culture and a great way to get to know more about the local people.

Respect nature: Follow the “Leave No Trace” principle. Stick to marked trails, don’t disturb wildlife, and take your litter with you to preserve Inari’s pristine environment. We want to ensure that our holidays have no negative impact on the local communities.

There is so much you can do in Nellim. You could spend every second there doing something new and exciting (though we recommend a bit of relaxing!). Here are some of our favourite Nellim activities:

Husky & snowmobile safari – One of the most exhilarating activities you can do in Saariselka. Glide across the snow on one of our amazing snowmobiles or husky-drawn sleds.
Snowshoeing – Slip on your snowshoes and trek through the thick snowy terrain. A fun and unique way of getting around and a great way to live like a local.
Guided Northern Lights experience – you’ll be accompanied by some of the best Northern Lights hunters in the region, so your chances of seeing them will go up exponentially.
