This intimate 4 night experience, with never more than 16 guests on the husky farm at one time, is designed for families who want to combine Arctic adventure with festive wonder. From the moment you arrive, the magic of Lapland surrounds you – the excited howls of huskies, the glistening forests heavy with snow, and skies that come alive at night with the aurora.

Each day brings a new way to explore the north. Glide silently through the wilderness in a heated sleigh, searching for the Northern Lights. Step into a fairy tale on the Searching for Santa Experience, baking gingerbread with the elves, meeting reindeer, and journeying into the snowy forest to discover Santa’s hidden cabin. For those seeking more, optional husky sledding or a reindeer safari offer unforgettable family moments.

Adventure meets tradition as you ride electric snowmobiles across frozen lakes and try your hand at ice fishing, then learn about Sámi culture at the fascinating Siida Museum. Evenings are devoted to Aurora hunts – by sleigh, on foot with snowshoes, or simply gazing up through the glass roof of your private Aurora Cabin.

Between adventures, the guesthouse becomes your cosy base. Unwind in the daily sauna, head out on skis or snowshoes, and soak up the warmth of hearty Lappish meals. The huskies provide a lively soundtrack to your stay, adding to the authenticity of life on a working farm.

This is more than just a holiday. It’s an exclusive journey into the heart of Lapland, blending festive magic, cultural discovery, and family adventure, all under the spell of the Northern Lights.

A full example itinerary is detailed below, activity timings can differ slightly, your own personal schedule will be given to you upon check in.

Arrival & First Aurora Hunt

Arrive at Ivalo Airport where your driver will be waiting to transfer you to the Husky Farm Guesthouse. Nestled in the snowy forest, this unique base offers an authentic and atmospheric introduction to Lapland – though do be aware the huskies may greet you with excited barks, adding to the immersive experience. After settling into your room and enjoying dinner, the adventure begins. You will climb aboard a heated sleigh, pulled gently through the silent wilderness. Wrapped in blankets, you’ll watch the night sky and, with luck, witness the Northern Lights flickering overhead on your first night.

Santa Experience, Optional Adventures & Aurora Hunt

After breakfast, you will transfer to Saariselkä for a morning of festive magic with the Searching for Santa Experience (approx. 3 hours). Guided by Santa’s cheerful Elf, you and your family will step into a world of Christmas wonder. The day begins with gingerbread baking in the elves’ turf house kitchen, before meeting Santa’s famous flying reindeer. While they only take to the skies on Christmas Eve, you’ll enjoy a short sleigh ride through the snowy forest.

Next, you’ll board a heated sleigh pulled by the Snowmobile-Elf and set off in search of Santa’s hidden cabin. Deep in the forest, you may just find his secret home. If you do, Santa will invite your family inside for a private chat and present each child with a small symbolic gift.

Afterwards, a warming lunch is served before you choose how to spend the afternoon. You may return to the Husky Farm to relax, or opt to join one of two optional adventures (at additional cost and available at checkout):

10 km Husky Ride – Drive your own eager dog team through snowy trails. Reindeer Express Ride (1.5 h) – A gentle journey through the forest pulled by reindeer.

In the evening, after dinner, you will head out once again into the dark Arctic wilderness for an unforgettable Aurora Hunt. Away from the lights, your guide will lead you to the best spots for watching the Northern Lights dance across the sky.

Snowmobiles, Ice Fishing & Aurora Cabin Night

Fuel up on breakfast before heading out for a day of Arctic exploration. Today you will ride silently across frozen landscapes on eco-friendly electric snowmobiles, before stopping to try your hand at ice fishing on a frozen lake – a true Lapland tradition. Returning for lunch and a rest, you can spend the afternoon unwinding in the sauna or exploring the snow on skis and snowshoes. Tonight, you’ll check into your private glass-roof Aurora Cabin, while still keeping your Guesthouse room. Watch the skies from the comfort of your bed and, with luck, drift off beneath the magical green waves of the Aurora Borealis.

Sámi Culture & Snowshoe Aurora Expedition

After breakfast, you will set off for a half-day visit to the Siida Museum (5 h), where you’ll gain fascinating insights into Sámi culture, history, and the unique Arctic environment. Returning in the afternoon, you can relax, ski, snowshoe, or simply enjoy the peaceful husky farm setting. After dinner, strap on your snowshoes for an evening Aurora Expedition. Walking through the dark forest by torchlight, you’ll discover a new way to hunt the Northern Lights – silent, personal, and unforgettable.

Departure

After breakfast, it’s time to say farewell to the huskies and the Arctic wilderness. You’ll be transferred back to Ivalo Airport for your onward journey, carrying memories of a truly unforgettable family adventure.
