What you'll do

Skimming over the pristine white snow of through the sharp, pure Lappish air behind a team of gorgeous huskies is an experience that simply can't be missed.

Driving a team of these beautiful dogs over the shimmering white fells, the silent, snow-dusted trees lining the tracks, is an almost mandatory activity during your time in Lapland.

The endlessly energetic dogs fly over the ground, and the sled glides seamlessly over the deep snowdrifts as the skids his softly, the only sound in the serene wilderness.

Take ownership of your own sled, taking your team left, right or flying over crossroads, and of course, allow a few obligatory shouts of “Mush!” to escape.

One person will drive the sled and the other will sit in it , covered in warm skins, at half way you can swap over if you wish.

The husky safari is a 5km trip that lasts around 30 minutes, and you’ll also get to spend some time with the huskies and maybe even meet some husky puppies, a chance to fully indulge in all your dog obsessions.

You’ll also enjoy a delicious warm berry juice whilst learning lots of interesting facts about huskies on this adventure in Lapland you’re certain never to forget.

The sleighs are two-person sleighs. Each sleigh is ridden by one of the guests. However, during early winter and when there’s little snow, seats will be available in sleigh ridden by the guide, instead.

*Please note – Available only as an add-on to an existing Not in the Guidebooks package
