Teotihuacan Pyramids & Shrine of Guadalupe

Step into the ancient and the sacred on a fascinating guided tour. Begin at Teotihuacan, once one of the largest cities in the world and now an awe-inspiring archaeological site.

Walk along the Avenue of the Dead, climb the towering Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon, and hear stories of the gods once worshipped here. Then continue to the Shrine of Guadalupe, a spiritual epicentre and pilgrimage site for millions. Explore both the modern basilica and the historic religious buildings nestled on the slopes of Tepeyac Hill.

This morning, transfer to the colonial gem of San Miguel de Allende, a UNESCO World Heritage city famed for its cobblestone streets, colourful facades, and the soaring pink spires of the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel.

In the evening, you’ll join the San Miguel Evening Food Experience — a progressive dinner tour from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. As lanterns light the cobbled streets, stroll with your guide to handpicked restaurants and hidden gems. At each stop, savour a different course: from soups and refined tacos to traditional Mexican specialties, paired with stories that bring San Miguel’s history and legends to life. Dessert rounds off the night in one of Mexico’s most enchanting towns.

Step into daily life at Mercado Hidalgo, designed by Gustave Eiffel’s workshop, tasting local favourites like guacamayas, gorditas, and fresh fruit drinks. Visit the dazzling Temple of San Cayetano in Valenciana, with its golden baroque altarpieces, followed by a short mine visit to connect with the city’s mineral past. Continue to a local artisan workshop, where silversmiths or mask makers share their craft. End with a stroll through Guanajuato’s charming callejones, including the romantic Callejón del Beso, before reaching the lively Jardín de la Unión to enjoy a refreshing nieve or cafecito as mariachis play.

When is the best time to travel to Central Mexico?

The best time to visit central Mexico is from November to April, during the dry season, when temperatures are warm and humidity is lower.

May to October is the wet season, with higher humidity and tropical rain showers, especially in the afternoons. However, this can be a quieter, greener time to visit, with lush landscapes and fewer tourists.
