Overview

On this 6 Night course, you learn about astrology and your personal chart. Express it as a work of art with help from your professional tutor.

This unique experience will give you insights and understanding about your astrological chart and how it impacts your life, in the past present and future.

Arrival and Astrology

Upon arrival at Bergerac airport or Sainte Foy La Grande, you will be transferred to the farmhouse in the stunning French countryside.

After a tour of the house and lunch, you will head to the studio for the first look at your astrological chart. You will discuss your chart and questionnaire and how it all could fit together into a piece of art.

This is the chance for you to gather some base knowledge of astrology and ask any questions about the week.

Setting the Scene

After breakfast, you will head over to the studio for a workshop. Today, you find your colours and decide how to apply them to your art work. You will discuss star signs and how they might impact your life which you can reflect in your work.

After a break for lunch, you do some work with acrylics and create a base for your work. Each guest will also be given the chance to choose their images for the collage.

Studio Day

Today, you spend the day in the studio working on your art. You will start the collage work, placing your images on the canvas. With breaks for refreshments and lunch. Jo will be at hand to help out and tell you about the astrological meanings of what you are doing.

You will have the evening at the farmhouse free to relax and enjoy a locally sourced authentic French dinner, after which you can unwind or even put a bit more time into your art work.

Visit to Chateau et Tour de Montaigne

After breakfast, you will head out for the day on your excursion to this historic French castle. Learn about the history of the attraction and its significance in French culture. Lunch will be provided on the tour and you will have a chance to take part in an afternoon sketching and or photography workshop.

You will head back in the early evening for dinner at the farmhouse. Then, you can take the rest of the evening to relax and get ready to put in some more time in the studio.

A Day in the Studio

Today, you will spend the day in the studio finalising your work and adding any hand drawn details.

After lunch, as a group you will play some astrology based board games, a great fun and interactive way of learning a little more about astrology.

Again, you will have a free night at the farmhouse, to play some more games, relax and enjoy a dinner made from locally sourced ingredients.

Visit to Moulin de Mysterrieux

On your final full day, you get to visit Moulin de Mysterrieux for a tour of the 13th century mill. Learn about its history and significance for astrology over lunch with the owner and evolutionary astrologer Michela.

In the afternoon, you will be taken back to the farmhouse where we review the week’s work as a group and wrap your art up safely for your journey home.

Departure

After your last breakfast at the farmhouse and some last moments in the beautiful French countryside, you will be transferred to the airport or train station. Taking some amazing memories and art work back home with you.

In 2014, Jo moved to the Bordeaux wine region of Le Gironde and created her intimate and unique Chambre d'hôtes with her husband and two children, and offered internships to postgraduate conservation/art students. Jo has created the perfect environment to enjoy her art and the animals she keeps; offering the ideal setting for those looking for an oasis of beauty and creativity; let’s not forget the fine wines and delicious food of the Bordeaux region.

Location

Your stay takes places in a beautiful farmhouse in the South West of France. With stunning views of the rolling hills, the farmhouse is a great place to relax and enjoy doing some art work. Enjoy relaxing by the pool in the French sun and enjoy some local food and wine throughout your stay.

You will be staying just a short drive from the medieval Bastide town of Sainte Foy La Grande. You will be able to go and walk around the town, experience the culture and learn about the rich history associated to this part of France.
