Overview

The Highlights of Lapland package is designed for travellers who want a balanced, experience-packed Arctic break without feeling rushed.

Over four nights, you follow a carefully curated itinerary that includes Lapland’s most iconic activities — husky sledding, reindeer encounters, snowshoeing and a full snowmobile adventure — while still enjoying long windows of downtime to relax in your premium Arctic Sky accommodation. It’s a trip that blends adventure with comfort, ideal for families, couples or anyone wanting an immersive yet easy-to-manage winter escape.

Days are structured to showcase the best of the region: you’ll meet local reindeer herders, drive your own husky team through snowy trails, and head out on a longer snowmobile journey that takes you deeper into the fell landscape than shorter safaris allow. A guided snowshoeing trip to the Prospector’s Gold Mine adds a quiet, scenic moment in nature, giving you time to take in the stillness and history of the area.

Nights are dedicated to the northern lights, with two separate aurora experiences built into the itinerary. One evening is spent at a remote Aurora Camp, warming by the fire beneath open skies, while another chases the clearest conditions by car. With two different approaches, you maximise your chances of seeing the aurora while enjoying the varied atmosphere of each outing.

Throughout your stay, the accommodation becomes a standout part of the experience. The Arctic Sky Suites and Villas offer a level of comfort that elevates the whole trip — private saunas, fireplaces, large windows framing the forest, and (in the villas) outdoor Jacuzzis overlooking the snow-covered trees. After a day of activity, returning to your own serene, warm, beautifully designed space feels like a luxury in itself.

With full board dining, winter clothing, guiding and equipment all included, the Highlights of Lapland package delivers an expertly balanced winter holiday — one that captures the region’s essential experiences while giving you time to unwind in style above the Arctic Circle.

*Per person cost based on 2 arriving in Early December

A full example itinerary is detailed below, activity timings can differ slightly, your own personal schedule will be given to you upon check in.

Arrival Day

Land in Ivalo airport, where you will be met and taken directly to your accommodation for the duration of your Christmas holiday. Drive through the ethereal pine forest, and arrive at your very own cabin, nestled within the still, white forest.

Take some time to settle in, unpack or explore, then you can enjoy a delicious dinner in the restaurant.

You will be staying in a luxurious cabin, which provides panoramic surroundings of this winter wonderland and the pitch black polar night sky. With any luck, you’ll be able to witness the spectacle of the Northern Lights on your very first night in Lapland.

Meals: Dinner

Husky Safari & Meet the Reindeer

After breakfast you head out for your Husky Safari, one of Lapland’s signature experiences. You learn how to handle the sled before taking the reins of your own husky team, driving through snow-covered forests and open fell scenery. It’s immersive, atmospheric and surprisingly peaceful.

Later, you visit a traditional reindeer camp for your Reindeer Encounter. You meet the herders, hear about Sámi culture, and enjoy a gentle sleigh ride through the forest. It’s a calm, authentic experience that contrasts beautifully with the fast pace of the huskies.

Dinner is followed by a relaxed evening — perfect for enjoying your suite’s sauna or simply stepping outside to look for first hints of the aurora.

Snowshoeing to the Prospector’s Gold Mine & Aurora Camp

This morning you join your guide for Snowshoeing to Prospector’s Gold Mine — a scenic and historically rich route. The hike takes you through quiet woodland and up to open viewpoints overlooking Saariselkä’s fells. Along the way, your guide shares stories of early gold hunters who shaped the region’s past.

In the evening, you head out to the Aurora Camp, set away from the village lights in a quiet Arctic location. With a fire, warm drinks and wide-open skies, the camp offers an ideal setting to watch for the northern lights. Even on cloudy nights, the experience feels special — remote, peaceful and atmospheric.

Snowmobile Adventure & Aurora Hunt by Car

After breakfast, you prepare for your Snowmobile Adventure, a longer 4–5 hour excursion that includes lunch. You travel deeper into the fells, crossing frozen lakes, forest trails and wide snowy ridges. This extended tour gives you a real sense of Lapland’s scale and wilderness, while still being accessible for beginners.

After dinner, you join an Aurora Hunt by Car. With the guide tracking weather and cloud movement, you travel to the clearest possible viewing spots. On crisp nights, you may watch the aurora shift across the sky in arcs of green, pink and white — an unforgettable Arctic moment.

Farewell

Your final morning in the Lapland. Wake up at a leisurely time  (check-out isn’t until 11 AM), and enjoy a final breakfast by the log fire as you reflect on the wonderful adventure you’ve had with us.

We’ll transfer you back to the airport, and look forward to maybe seeing you again!
