Explore the meeting point of eastern, western, and northern cultures in the tiny village of Nellim, on a Lapland adventure that takes you next to the vast expanse of Russia in the heart of the land of Sámi.
A bus will take you comfortably to the northernmost border crossing between Finland and Russia. We will spend a moment at the border station and continue on to the Paatsjoki River Bridge, which crosses over the beautiful unfrozen river and provides a panoramic view directly into Russia.
We will explore the Holy Trinity church at Nellim, where the log walls and the beautiful icons transform the shrine into a completely unique work of art, exhibiting the centuries-old Orthodox history of the Skolt Sámi people.
Lunch is served in the Nellim Wilderness Hotel, where the tables are filled with delicacies prepared from the purest ingredients of Lapland, and is an opportunity for you to try traditional Sámi cuisine in an authentic setting.

So, finding, and planning amazing authentic trips and experiences is what he has been doing all his working life.
This tour runs from Saariselkä, at a resort village in northern Finland, deep in the heart of Lapland.
From Saariselkä, you’ll travel in a comfortable minivan to the small village of Nellim, on the shore of Lake Inari.
Nellim is about a one hour drive from Saariselkä and sits about 9km from the Russian border.
You’ll depart at 10am and return around 4pm.
