Enjoy a fun filled itinerary in Lapland. You will be able to visit Santa Clause himself, and his reindeer! You will also have the chance to search for the Northern Lights and explore Lapland on a husky sled.

This 4-night family adventure places you right at the heart of winter Lapland, where snow-laden forest, glowing igloos and the quiet wonder of the Arctic Circle create a setting that feels lifted from a storybook.

You will stay in a premium glass-roofed igloo close to Santa Claus Village, giving you the rare joy of combining comfort, convenience and wilderness atmosphere. By day, you can step out into the festive glow of Santa’s world; by night, you can lie warm beneath the glass and watch the Arctic sky drift above you.

The experience is designed for families who want more than a simple winter break. You will meet huskies, ride through snowy trails, visit a traditional reindeer farm, set out on a family-friendly snowmobile adventure and head into the wilderness in search of the Northern Lights.

There is a lovely balance here: enough structure to make the most of every day, but enough free time to wander, play in the snow, visit Santa Claus Village and let the children feel the magic unfold at their own pace.

This is Lapland in its most accessible and memorable form: soft beds, warm meals, easy transfers, winter clothing arranged for you, and a carefully woven itinerary of authentic Arctic experiences.

Please note: Whilst all the activities mentioned will be included in your trip, the order of the activities may vary and your personal itinerary with be given to you on arrival.

Arrival in Rovaniemi

You will be transferred from Rovaniemi airport to your hotel. There you will have free time to go and explore your surroundings and get your bearings. Enjoy browsing in Santa Claus village, taking in your first views of the snow covered wilderness and magical Christmas atmosphere.

Santa's Village and Northern Lights

Today you will have the morning free so this is your chance to visit the man himself, Santa Claus! Take the short walk from your igloo to spend time in Santa’s Village and enjoy the magical Christmas atmosphere. Spend as much time as you wish walking around and enjoying all that his village has to offer, you can see Santa’s post office where all the letters from children all over the world are sent, sorted and delivered, the elves workshop, many independent shops with christmas souvenirs, Lappish crafts and of course Santa’s office, where you can go along and meet Santa Claus.

Following this you will have the chance to see a natural phenomenon in the form of the Northern Lights on your evening hunt for the Aurora Borealis (4 hours).

This experience is almost always done in the complete dark, this way your eyes get time to adjust to the dark and you see the scenery in a completely new and beautiful way.

On the way, you will also get the opportunity to build a fire, either outside, next to a log hut or in a teepee. Your guide will teach you how to light a fire in the traditional way, using silver birch bark and flint. Once the fire is lit and the kettle is boiling, your guide will keep an eye on the moving sky. While waiting for the first greenish arches to appear above your head, they will share with you their knowledge and passion about the forest, the nature of Lapland and its wildlife, and naturally the northern lights. You will also get some hot beverages to warm you up, grill your own sausages over the open fire and enjoy your snack with the most famous Finnish mustard.

We can’t always guarantee that you will see them due to weather conditions but your local guides will try their hardest to find them for you. If not you can always try again the next night!

Husky Safari and Reindeer Farm

After breakfast, set out for one of Lapland’s most iconic experiences: a husky safari. This 2.5-hour adventure introduces you to the energy and excitement of the dogs before you head out on a 5 km trail through the winter landscape.

You will feel the anticipation build as the huskies prepare to run, then the sudden shift into silence as the sled moves into the snowy forest. It is an exhilarating yet family-friendly experience, giving you time to enjoy the scenery and learn more about the dogs and the mushing way of life.

Later, continue your Arctic animal encounters with a visit to an authentic reindeer farm. Here, you will meet the gentle reindeer and learn about their importance in Lappish culture, from traditional herding to daily life in the north.

You will then enjoy a peaceful reindeer sleigh ride through the snowy forest. The pace is slower and softer than the husky safari, giving you time to take in the landscape, listen to the runners moving over the snow and enjoy the old-world calm of this traditional form of Arctic travel. Dinner is included back at your accommodation.

Family Snowmobiling Adventure

After breakfast, enjoy a family-friendly snowmobiling adventure through the snowy landscapes around Rovaniemi. This activity is designed with families in mind, giving adults the thrill of driving while children can enjoy the experience safely.

Before setting off, you will receive the necessary instructions and safety guidance. Adults usually travel in pairs on the snowmobile, with the chance to switch drivers where suitable, while younger children may travel in a sled pulled by the guide.

The route takes you through wintry forest scenery, where the snow-covered trees and open Arctic air create a real sense of adventure. The pace is kept suitable for the group, making this a fun and accessible introduction to snowmobiling rather than an extreme expedition.

After the activity, return to your accommodation for your final evening in Lapland. Enjoy dinner, then perhaps take one last walk under the Arctic sky or settle into your igloo for a final night beneath the glass roof.

Departure

Wake for your final breakfast in Rovaniemi and enjoy a last few moments in your igloo. There may be time for a short walk, a final look around the snowy grounds or one last visit towards Santa Claus Village, depending on your flight time.

Your winter clothing will be returned after your final tour, so departure is kept simple and organised. Pack up, take in the last views of the snowy forest and prepare for your transfer.

You will then be transferred back to Rovaniemi Airport for your journey home, carrying memories of huskies, reindeer, glowing igloos, snowmobile trails and Arctic skies.
