Travelling from the otherworldly Atacama Desert to the lush Lake District and deep into Patagonia, each stop offers a distinct perspective on Chile’s natural beauty and cultural richness.

Along the way, you’ll experience Chile through its people, landscapes and traditions. Share stories under the clearest night skies in the Atacama, walk ancient paths shaped by indigenous communities, cruise across glacial lakes framed by volcanoes, and trek through the wild terrain of Torres del Paine. Carefully curated experiences and local insight bring each destination to life, creating a journey that feels both personal and deeply connected to place.

This is a private itinerary but on some experiences throughout the tour you may join a small group.

Arrival into Santiago & Street Food Tour

Upon arrival into Santiago Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

This afternoon you will be picked up to explore the streets of Santiago trying different flavours and looking for the perfect snack.

Chile is a fertile land with amazing agricultural produce that locals have learnt to incorporate in daily junk food transforming it into tasty, almost homemade meals. You will visit several spots where you will have the opportunity to taste many of these preparations and learn how Chileans use everyday products to create these treats.

You could try sopaipillas (a piece of fried dough with pumpkin), a chorrillana (a dish including French fries, slices of different types of meat, onion, etc.) and of course, the traditional completo (similar to a hot dog but including tomato, avocado and other delicious ingredients).

Take full advantage of this experience until the last bite before boarding your transfer back to your hotel.

Journey to the Atacama Desert. Star Gazing

After breakfast, you will be collected from your hotel and transferred to the airport for your domestic flight* to Calama.

On arrival, you will journey through striking desert landscapes to San Pedro de Atacama, a small oasis town set against a backdrop of dramatic terrain.

This evening you will be picked up from your hotel and venture into the desert night to admire the star-filled skies of San Pedro de Atacama. During this experience, you will learn about ancient Andean astronomy and its essential role in indigenous societies, particularly in agriculture, architecture, and the arts. Just as local communities once did, you will gather around a fire in a mystical desert setting, where stories, myths, and legends are shared while enjoying a naked-eye observation of the sky.

You will also have the opportunity to use a telescope for a closer look at the stars and planets.

Atacameñan culture

This morning after breakfast, you will experience a unique combination of Atacameñan culture and nature.

You will be transferred south of San Pedro de Atacama to the Puribeter Elemental Reserve, a conservation area mainly dedicated to conservation and research.

During your visit you’ll learn about the cultural significance of the algarrobo tree, as well as the importance of water in Atacameñan culture, so much that Puribeter means “water path” in the ancient Kunza language.

You will walk along the water path to learn the close and respectful relationship locals maintain with nature and animals, such as llamas, lambs, horses and donkeys.

If you wish you may also participate in the traditional milling of seeds, connecting with ancestral practices in a peaceful setting ideal for reflection and connection with nature.

Geysers at Sunrise

At sunrise, you will head toward one of the gateways to the Andean Highlands to witness the intense volcanic activity of the region at the El Tatio Geysers geothermal field.

There, you will stop at the White Geyser, a natural thermal pool where you can enjoy a relaxing bath before continuing your journey.

The experience continues with visits to Machuca, a small traditional farming village, and Putana, both renowned for their extensive wetlands that are home to llamas, vicuñas, and a rich variety of birdlife.

After this memorable experience, you will return to your hotel.

Journey into the Lake District

Today you will be transferred from your hotel to Calama Airport for your domestic flight* to Puerto Montt.

On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Petrohué Falls, Osorno Volcano & Peulla

Experience Chile’s hidden gems of the Lake District, you will depart towards the locality of Ensenada to reach the oldest national park of the country: Vicente Pérez Rosales.

Your first stop will be at the impressive Petrohué Falls. Here you will have the chance to walk among thick Valdivian rainforest and take amazing pictures of the native flora and, if you are lucky, even the local avifauna.

You will then continue with your journey towards Petrohué where you will board a catamaran to navigate the wonderful Todos Los Santos Lake. Its intense Emerald green colour and the imposing Osorno Volcano in the background create a breath-taking landscape worthy of a thousand pictures.

After approximately 2 hours you will disembark in Peulla, a small village situated in the middle of the Andes, home to unparalleled nature.

You will have enough time to explore your surroundings, have lunch and even to partake in one of the different additional excursions available. After this beautiful experience you will board the catamaran and head back to your accommodation.

Journey into Patagonia

Today, you will be transferred from your hotel to Puerto Montt Airport for your domestic flight* to Puerto Natales Airport, where dramatic landscapes await you.

Trekking Cerro Benitez

Today you will venture to Benítez Hill, along the way, dramatic mountains, deep crevices, overhanging cliffs, and wide valleys unfold, creating a striking Patagonian landscape.

This area is known for its condor perches, and with some luck, you may have the opportunity of witness the sky’s colossus: one of Patagonia’s most iconic sights.

A guided hike will take you to the highest possible viewpoint, offering the best opportunity to spot these magnificent birds and to enjoy sweeping panoramic views over the Eberhard Fjord, Señoret Channel, and Sofía Lagoon.

You will have time to walk, pause, and absorb the vast, untouched scenery before returning to your hotel.

Journey to Torres del Paine

This morning you will be picked up from Simple Patagonia and transferred toward Torres del Paine National Park, enjoying stunning views of the Patagonian steppe and the Andes along the way.

Your journey includes a visit to the Milodon Cave, a fascinating natural formation where remains of prehistoric giant ground sloths were discovered, offering insight into the region’s geology and ancient history.

Grey Lake

Explore Grey Lake today and walk along its black-sand shore to the catamaran pier.

You will then enjoy a 45-minute navigation across the icy waters toward the impressive Grey Glacier, surrounded by icebergs and Patagonian landscapes.

After lunch, you will continue with a low-difficulty hike to the Cuernos Lookout (approximately 6 km round trip), crossing the Patagonian steppe and enjoying outstanding views of the Cuernos del Paine and Lake Nordenskjöld.

On the return, you may visit Salto Grande waterfall before heading back.

Journey back to Santiago

Today, you will be transferred from your hotel to Puerto Natales Airport for your domestic flight* back to Santiago.

Maipo Valley boutique wineries

Today you will get to know two of the most lauded vineyards in the foothills of the Andes Mountains with guided tours and tastings. Its terroir is recognized as one of the best areas of the world for the plantation for Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenére. The climate here is Mediterranean, semi-arid and it is known for its excellent gastronomy and attractive landscape, which are unique to the Maipo Valley.

Antiyal Winery
Antiyal was founded in 1996 by Alvaro Espinoza and family. Often referred to as the original ‘Garage Winery’ in Chile, today Antiyal has grown into a modest but personably sized winery that maintains a strict focus on quality. Antiyal is a Mapuche (native Chilean) word that means ‘sons of the sun’. We practice organic and biodynamic agriculture as a means to seek truer flavours from the earth that surround us in the Maipo Valley.

Santiago:
Santiago enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with warm, dry summers and cooler, slightly wetter winters. Surrounded by the Andes, the city often benefits from clear skies and bright sunshine, making it an excellent year-round destination for culture, food and wine experiences.

San Pedro de Atacama:
The Atacama Desert is one of the driest places on earth, offering clear skies, intense sunshine and dramatic temperature shifts between day and night. Days are typically warm and dry, while evenings can feel surprisingly cool, especially at higher altitudes.

Spring (Sept-Nov): Average daytime temp: 20-26°C / Average overnight temp: 3-8°C
Summer (Dec-Feb): Average daytime temp: 25-30°C / Average overnight temp: 8-12°C (with occasional highland rains)

Lake District:
Chile’s Lake District has a temperate climate shaped by nearby mountains and lakes, bringing lush greenery and fresh, clean air. Weather can be changeable, with a mix of sunshine and light but this adds to the region’s dramatic scenery of volcanoes, forests and waterways.

Patagonia is defined by its ever-changing climate, where sun, cloud and powerful winds can transform the landscape within moments. Cool temperatures prevail throughout the year, creating crisp, clear days and dramatic light. Each season offers a distinct perspective on the wild beauty surrounding Tierra Patagonia. Tierra Patagonia welcomes guests during the region’s warmer months from October to early May each year and closes for the winter season.

Within this itinerary there are a mixture of private and shared experiences.

All private hikes and walks will be tailored to your needs and options will be discussed locally.

For the shared activities the group sizes are approximately 15 people (except on the catamaran where the group size will be larger).

For the Stars and Fire - Astronomy tour the visibility is significantly reduced during full moon periods; however, the desert moon offers a unique and impressive experience. This tour does not operate from 7 days before to 3 days after the full moon.

All activities are subject to weather conditions and availability.

On some activities the driver will be Spanish speaking only.

What level of fitness is required?

A moderate to good level of fitness is recommended but on the private experience's this can be tailored to suit your fitness levels.
