Buenos Aires: Culture & Tango

This morning, you will discover why Buenos Aires is often called the “Paris of South America”.

Your guide will provide the perfect introduction to four of the city’s most distinctive districts, offering a fascinating insight into its history, contrasts and culture. You will experience the highlights of Buenos Aires, including political centers, artist meccas and barrios rich in European architecture.

You will become acquainted with the foundation site of the capital at Plaza de Mayo, undisputedly Buenos Aires’ political heart.

Next, delve into one of the oldest districts, Parque Lezama and La Boca in the south, where artists’ ateliers and brightly coloured houses jostle for space; before moving on to Plaza San Martin and Retiro. Here, notice the transformation of Buenos Aires’ architecture from the rambling style of the south of the city to the European-influenced residential quarters of the 19th century.

Finally, you will come face to face with the sophisticated neighbourhood of Recoleta, whose buildings and avenues were inspired by the French. A visit to the world-famous Recoleta Cemetery where Evita Peron is buried is included.

This evening experience Tango the local way, there are many milongas (places where local “porteños” dance tango), scattered throughout the different neighbourhoods, a different milonga opens every night of the week. Old lounges, cafes or neighbourhood clubs host a milonga every night where everyone can walk the runway turning counter clockwise.

Your guide will meet you at your hotel and travel with you to one Milonga. Later this evening try out your dancing technique at a traditional Milonga (Tango bar), in a fun and laid back environment.

Once on the dance floor, the couples dance in a counter clockwise direction and never pass the couple in front (it is not a race). That is called social sense. There are even several lanes/circles to make better use of the space. You should never pass someone else in the middle of the dance. Beginner dancers often dance in the inner circles so as not to disturb the circulation of those who dance better (or think they do).

Street Food & Local Flavours

Today you will explore Buenos Aires through its flavours. In atmospheric San Telmo, your guide will introduce you to the street food that defines everyday Argentine life.

You will bite into freshly baked empanadas, taste the smoky simplicity of choripán straight from the grill, and sample Argentina’s distinctive take on pizza — thick, indulgent and unapologetically generous with cheese. The experience ends on a sweet note with artisan gelato, a legacy of Italian immigration that still shapes the city’s culinary identity.

The afternoon and evening are yours to enjoy at leisure. You may browse antique markets, return to a favourite neighbourhood, or enjoy a final evening soaking up the city’s infectious energy.

Iguazú Falls: The Argentine Side & Boat Experience

Today you will step into Iguazú National Park with your private guide, where walkways weave through rainforest and along the edge of vast cascading waters. Butterflies drift through humid air as the distant roar of the falls grows louder with every step.

You will explore both the Upper and Lower circuits, offering dramatically different perspectives. From above, you will watch sheets of water spill over jungle-fringed cliffs. From below, you will feel the raw power of the falls as spray rises into the air and rainbows form in the mist.

The highlight is Devil’s Throat – this can be reached by either walking or via Iguazu’s Ecological Train, specifically designed for the national park, with open-sided cars that allow full appreciation of the breath-taking scenery and diverse flora and fauna.

This afternoon experience the full force of the falls with a thrilling exploration of the Lower Iguazú River and Central Falls. Taking a powerful zodiac boat, you will approach the Tres Mosqueteros Falls and the dramatic Devil’s Throat. These ‘up close and personal’ boat rides are the only true way to feel first-hand the immensity of this natural phenomenon.

The tour begins with an adventurous 8km drive aboard an open-top 4×4 vehicle into the jungle, a great way to admire the flora and fauna of the rainforest before reaching the river, and the Falls.

You will make your way to Macuco pier, where you will embark on a motor boat to navigate the 6 km of Lower Iguazú River, and 2 km of rapids until we reach Iguazú. First, you visit San Martin Island, before sailing to Los Tres Mosqueteros (The Three Musketeers) Falls and then the highlight of any navigation around Iguazú, the awesome Devil’s Throat.

The zodiac will get as close as possible to the foot of the main drop, allowing you to immerse in the ferocious power created by the feeding streams, culminating in the Central Falls.

Be prepared to get thoroughly wet during this adrenaline-packed adventure.

Once nicely soaked and fully in awe, we go on to descend the rapids and return to the shores.

Return late afternoon, with the evening at leisure.
