Day 22: Departure

From the vibrant streets and neighbourhood cafés of Santiago to the vast, open silence of the Atacama Desert, each stop reveals a different rhythm of life, shaped by nature, culture and centuries of tradition. You will share stories beneath some of the clearest night skies on Earth, explore landscapes that feel almost otherworldly, and connect with communities whose lives remain deeply tied to the land.

As you travel south, the scenery shifts dramatically. Volcanic lakes and forested landscapes give way to the remote beauty of Patagonia, where towering peaks, glacial lakes and wide-open plains create a sense of true wilderness. Here, experiences go beyond sightseeing, offering a genuine insight into local life, from time spent with Patagonian shepherding families to standing before the immense Perito Moreno Glacier, hearing the ice crack and shift in real time.

Crossing into Argentina, the journey softens into the slower pace of Mendoza’s wine country, where days are shaped by vineyard visits, long lunches and the backdrop of the Andes. In Buenos Aires, the energy builds once more, with its rich European influence, creative spirit and deeply rooted traditions. You will explore neighbourhoods filled with character, uncover stories through street art and history, and experience the passion of tango as both performance and cultural expression.

The journey concludes at Iguazú Falls, where the power of nature takes centre stage. Surrounded by subtropical rainforest, you will experience the falls from multiple perspectives, feeling their sheer force up close and witnessing the ever-changing play of mist, light and sound. Throughout the itinerary, carefully curated experiences and seamless transitions allow you to travel deeply and meaningfully, creating a journey that feels personal, connected and unforgettable.

This is a private itinerary but on some experiences throughout the tour you may join a small group.
Accommodation will be reserved at time of booking. Depending on availability there may be changes to similar accommodation.

Journey to Buenos Aires. Tango Expereince

Today, you will be transferred from your hotel to Mendoza Airport for your domestic flight* to Buenos Aires Airport.

On arrival you will be met and transferred to your accommodation.

This evening experience Tango the local way, there are many milongas (places where local “porteños” dance tango), scattered throughout the different neighbourhoods, a different milonga opens every night of the week. Old lounges, cafes or neighbourhood clubs host a milonga every night where everyone can walk the runway turning counter clockwise.

Your guide will meet you at your hotel and travel with you to one Milonga. Later this evening try out your dancing technique at a traditional Milonga (Tango bar), in a fun and laid back environment.

Once on the dance floor, the couples dance in a counter clockwise direction and never pass the couple in front (it is not a race). That is called social sense. There are even several lanes/circles to make better use of the space. You should never pass someone else in the middle of the dance. Beginner dancers often dance in the inner circles so as not to disturb the circulation of those who dance better (or think they do).

Graffiti & Street Art

Buenos Aires is one of the best cities on the globe for graffiti. Palermo in particular is a breeding ground for street artists, and its recent development has caught the attention of academics who are interested in the cultural roots of this burgeoning art form. Free from restrictions, Porteños express their opinions and ideas, be they political, social, or sentimental. During the visit, you will also learn about the different styles and techniques used.

North Exploration:  You will start this tour by visiting the Galerias Pacifico shopping mall. It was declared a National Historic Monument due to the undeniable artistic value of its architecture and its striking murals. In 1945, the central dome of Galerías Pacífico, which covers an area of 450m2, was painted by five famous muralist painters. The artists Berni, Castagnino, Colmeiro, Spilimbergo and Urruchúa, convened and made a decoration which achieved an iconographic structure of the primary values and sociocultural common practices in various cultures, as the family and the contact with nature.

The murals register a full range of situations, allegories and universal messages. Yet, it is hinted that the artists sought a creation of their respective designs, apart from the common original accord with the group, and therefore guaranteeing the spontaneity of the individual creation.

The visit then continues to Palermo area where our guide will show us iconic graffiti done by contemporary artists.
