What You'll Do

The ultimate escapist getaway for two, this adventurous, romantic destination is breathtaking in its isolation and beautiful surroundings. Blissful relaxation, adrenaline-pumping outdoor adventures and the world's greatest natural wonder make this an unforgettable trip.

Finally, five days that are focused entirely around you. You’ll both receive private use of the sauna and spa, enjoy a relaxing massage, and cut out any hassle with fully-included, private transfers. Dine on traditional Finnish cuisine, using ingredients fresh from the stunning countryside, by a roaring open fire in the perfectly silent, snow-dusted forest.

The daytime Lapland adventures include breathtaking arctic nature experiences; an exhilarating snowmobile safari and a reindeer sledge ride with a small group. The package also contains two special private activities specially designed for couples. On a private Snowshoe Aurora hunt, a guide leads you into the deep, snowy wilderness in search of the magical northern lights.

The second private activity is a dinner that goes beyond your average date night. We’ll take you on a journey up the beautiful, wide-open fells in a heated sleigh, then, a 3-course dinner – complete with sparkling wine – will be set for you by an open fire as you wait for the northern lights to appear.

The schedule is planned so that you will have plenty of time for yourselves. You could go to visit the ski resort nearby, book other activities, enjoy Pyhä nightlife or explore Lapland’s surrounding nature on your own. Or, simply relax in the aurora suite – the time is yours to enjoy and you can do whatever you and your partner wish.

After a day of arctic adventures, spend the evenings of your northern lights holiday in this quiet corner of Finland wrapped up in a blanket under the Milky Way and the North Star, and watch as the tongues of flame that constitute the northern lights dance across the pure, clear skies.

Welcome to Aurora Country

Your Northern Lights adventure begins when we pick you up directly from Rovaniemi Airport and transfer you into the Lappish wilderness, through pristine snow encrusted pine forest and snowy fells until we reach the Northern Lights Village.

Here, you’ll be shown to your private cabin. This stylish, elegant space will provide you with your base for the experience, and offers beautifully cosy warmth against the Arctic weather outside.

And of course, the glass roof means that you’ll have unobstructed views of the spectacular night sky and the jaw-dropping Northern Lights, all from the comfort of your bed.

After a hearty dinner, it’s time for your first expedition to spot the Northern Lights. Led by locals who are experts in spotting the natural phenomenon, you’ll venture into the wilderness by snowshoe, to get a taste of the wilderness and to get the very best chance of seeing the Northern Lights at their brightest.

Explore Lapland's Beauty - Then Unwind

The morning excursion for day two of your romantic trip to the far north will take you deep into the snowy fells and forests, as you saddle up for a 4-hour snowmobile ride.

Explore the true back-of-beyond, on an exhilarating journey through stunning natural beauty, and return feeling satisfied and wearied after a morning of activity.

The perfect remedy for any tired, cold bones? An aroma or hot stone massage to soothe any aches or pains, and melt into true relaxation in this tranquil, isolated part of the world.

The evening is yours to enjoy. Either explore the site after another hearty dinner by a crackling log fire, or cosy up under a blanket and stare through your glass roof at the perfectly black night sky, hoping to catch a glimpse of the flickering tongues of fire.

Get Out into Nature

Spend day three mostly at your leisure, simply enjoying the comfort the site has to offer, the otherworldly landscape, the skis and snowshoes at your disposal, before you spend two hours on the reindeer express.

Meet the animals that are so central to the landscape, and so vital to the survival of the indigenous population, then hiss through the pine forest in a sleigh pulled by the gentle beasts.

Then, that evening, it’s a different kind of journey, as the two of you are taken deep into the wilderness, pulled by a snowmobile, to hunker down in a heated sleigh and take in the incredible spectacle of the Northern Lights, surrounded by nature, completed by a 3 course meal set amongst the snowy hills with the aurora overhead.

Your Day To Explore

On your fourth day in the Northern Lights Village, you are totally free to explore the site and surrounding wilderness, relax at the nearby spa, or simply lie in gazing at the snow-covered pine trees around you.

You could take a look at our husky rides, getting up close and personal to these beautiful dogs and heading out into the untouched landscape via sled, or grab your snowshoes for another adventure into the forest.

Your Magical Weekend Complete

Wake up on your final morning here, hopefully blown away by the natural spectacle you witnessed last night.

Feeling rejuvenated and refreshed by the pure air, the time spent in nature and the extreme comfort you’ve enjoyed, head for a final breakfast.

Your stay sadly comes to an end at this point, and we’ll transfer you straight back to Rovaniemi airport.

Location Information

Northern Lights Village is located deep in the quiet wilderness of the Lapland region, 100km from Rovaniemi and 150km from the centre of Levi.

The transfer time from Rovaniemi is around an hour and a half drive.

250km north of the Arctic Circle, the area you’ll be staying in is a vast expanse of pristine pine forest that is home to bears, golden eagles, wolverines, and thousands of reindeer.

The restaurant, saunas, snowmobile tracks and toboggan areas are all right in the village, along with 40 cosy cabins with electric fires and glass roofs. The cabins are lined by uninhabited fells and forests.

FAQs

Trips run in the winter season from December to late April.

Thermal clothing is provided to guests staying at the host resort throughout their stay. Participants staying in other resorts, are offered thermal clothing for the duration of the experience. Other equipment, such as skis and snowshoes are to be returned after the end of every activity.

Upon check in at your resort you will be given your full schedule of exciting activities.

Yes! WiFi is a complimentary service of the Northern Lights Village and is available everywhere at the resort, with speeds of up to 100 Mbp/s and no data limits.

Pyhä is located under 10min drive away. It has approximately 10 bars and restaurants as well as Ski slopes. The resort does operate a return shuttle service.

The Ski resort at Pyhä has 15 slopes, 9 elevators. Slopes open from 10:30-17:00. Ski hire and passes are available direct with Pyhä Ski Resort.

Your package includes return, shared transfers from Rovaniemi Airport which is 1hr 30min from the resort. Kittilä (2hrs) and Ivalo (2hr 30min) airport transfers can be accommodated but at an additional supplement. Please let us know if you require these options.

Yes! The resort has 2 x Igloo Saunas with a hot tub and a traditional Sauna. These can be pre-booked through Not in the Guidebooks to avoid disappointment on arrival.
