Arrival

Upon arrival at Malaga airport, you will be met by a driver who will take you to your hotel. You will be met by Paola and Kathy, who will welcome you with a glass of cava or juice, overlooking the amazing landscape and Mediterranean sea. You will get to know each other and be told what you can expect from the next few days. Then you will have some dinner before relaxing for the rest of the evening.

Introduction to Interior Design

After breakfast, you will dive into your first workshop. You will be introduced to the exciting world of interiors and how to start an interior design scheme. You will start to formulate ideas about the direction and style you would like to choose for your space.

Today you will discover how people’s moods and emotions can be influenced by the colours they see around them, with the science of colour which is truly fascinating. You will also learn just how much colour is an integral part of interior design and how to create a colour palette that is pleasing to the eye and the soul.

Then you will dive into the world of textiles an textures. We explore the types of materials designers use to achieve beautiful interiors, from bedding to window treatments and wall coverings. You will learn about styles, colour, texture, patterns and how to select materials. Keeping all of these elements balanced is key to creating an aesthetically pleasing interior design scheme.

Excursion and Afternoon Workshop

After breakfast, you will have the choice to go out on a walking tour or a tuk tuk tour. The walking tour is a 3 hour stroll with a local guide who will tell you all about the history of the pueblo and take you to some beautiful hidden gems in the town. Your guide will be there to answer any questions you may have as you explore this picturesque town with them.

On the tuk tuk tour, you will be joined by a local driver who will tell you all about the culture and history of the area, whilst answering any questions you may have. The high up viewpoints in the village can be a challenge for some, so sit back and ride up in style. You will have amazing panoramic views of the landscape and on a clear day, you can see as far a Morocco!

In the afternoon, you will have a workshop on space planning. You will be asked to bring some simple measurement with you to help you create a floor plan of your space. Understanding the basics of what fits where may sounds simple, but it is an essential aspect of interior design. You will be helped to create a list of items to include in your chosen room and how to arrange them in the best manner.

In the evening you will have lots of time to relax after a busy day, visit one of the local restaurants for dinner, or just stay at the hotel. It is up to you.

Mood Board and Tapas

After a free morning to do as you please, you will start your last workshop of the trip. You will focus on your mood board, the most exciting part of interior design. You are helped in putting all your chosen elements together, fabrics, wallpapers, furniture, textiles and colours onto your mood board. You will see your amazing design, working in harmony and have some real evidence of your progress to go home and show your family and friends.

Afterwards, you will be taken to a local fantastic restaurant where you will try some of the finest Spanish cuisine. Indulge in delicious meat, fish and vegetarian dishes paired with amazing Spanish wine to end a perfect trip.

Departure

After a final breakfast, it will be time to checkout and be transferred to the airport for your flight home or further on with your travels. You will be taking back some amazing memories and some newly gained knowledge in interior design to transform your home.
