Enjoy this great day out to an authentic local farmers market followed by an afternoon in the kitchen with a local chef learning delicious recipes and trying the amazing dishes you prepare with produce bought from market.
The monthly “Market Day Cookery Class” is a cookery class with a difference. With a maximum group of 8, we will meet in Aberdeen in the morning for a brief introduction before we take a short drive out to one of the many fantastic local farmer’s markets which Aberdeenshire has to offer.
Here we will get a chance to chat with producers and learn about seasonality and what makes their product so special. As a group we will decide, based on your tastes, seasonality and availability, what to buy for our cookery class. Obviously, we will have time for a quick bite, coffee and a yap before we head back to the bus.
On the way back to Aberdeen we can stop at a speciality drinks shop and choose some wine, beer or soft drinks to go with our meal. We will then arrive back at the cook school where we will meet our very energetic, fun and talented local chef. Using a good balance of hands on cookery and chef’s demos we will produce a delicious three-course locally sourced meal to enjoy with some drinks.
Expect a fun, informative and casual day out where we will meet hard working producers, hear their stories and get hands on, learning new skills and fresh flavours with some of the finest produce on offer, a great addition to any activity holiday in Scotland.
