What you'll do

Get off the beaten track and stay in the beautiful countryside of Northern Ireland, far from the rush of modern life in your own private shepherd's hut. Disconnect from your daily life and routine for as long as you need, and spend your days hiking, fishing, or simply relaxing in the beautiful surroundings.

Arrive and check in to your unique accommodation, a private shepherd’s hut, then spend the next few nights enjoying the peace and tranquility this little corner of Northern Ireland has to offer.

If you need something to fill the days with, there is plenty on offer. Meander along Johnny’s Trail, planted with more than 23,000 native trees, listen to the singing birds and discover the pond, roundhouse and bushcraft area on your way. Let the kids busy themselves in our purpose-built playground or enjoy a spin in our tractor barrel ride.

Learn about the rich culture and heritage of the Ring of Guillon, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The area is steeped in myths and legends, there are countless ancient stories which have been retold around the campfire for centuries; from where Fíonn fell into the lake on top of the mountain and gained his grey hair to where Sétanta slew the hound and was thereafter named  Cúchulainn, the Hound of Ulster.

Your hosts have farmed here for years and are delighted to share their knowledge of the local area, the traditions and the famous craic for which the Irish are renowned.

The Shepherd’s Hut accommodates up to three people in a double bed with a single ‘bunk’ above.

This cosy hut has an electric heater, internal/external lighting and electrical sockets.

There is also a kitchenette with a sink, hot/cold water, twin gas hob and utensils.

The hut is surrounded by a circular stone wall and within the wall is a garden, picnic bench, fire pit and an outside spring water tap.

The communal kitchen is only 20m away, where there is a fridge, oven, sink  and room for indoor eating.

The shower rooms are also around 20-30 m away and are equipped with underfloor heating , shower, toilet and hand-basins.

You will be allocated a shower room for your stay, in order to comply with current COVID regulations.
