What you'll do

This ecotourism adventure of Bacalar will see you immersed in Spanish colonial history, ancient Mayan culture, beautiful nature, and of course in the renowned Bacalar lagoon itself, what must surely be one of the best swimming spots in the world.

Bacalar is an idyllic town set on an enchanting inland lagoon, surrounded by nature and with an exciting colonial history that speaks of Spanish treasure, pirate myths and legends, and more.

Embark upon a sailing adventure on your own private boat, and your captain will take you across the mesmerising waters that shimmer a unique 7 shades of blue.

Make the most of Bacalar while it is still a quiet, laid-back tourist destination, and by travelling under wind power alone, contribute to the conservation of this unique, beautiful ecosystem. Not only that, but travelling by sailboat means you get truly close to nature, and can enjoy this lagoon in its stunning corner of Mexico in a more intimate way than your average tourist. Enjoy snorkelling, swimming and sunbathing on deck. A delicious lunch will be prepared for you and you relax by the turquoise water.
