What You'll Do

Sample Roman cuisine as it should be, like the locals, as you enjoy the most incredible dishes the city can serve up in authentic venues, off the usual tourist track. Join us (and a maximum of five others) on a foodie stroll through Trastevere – the trendiest neighbourhood in Rome! . Along the way, you’ll sample supplì and enjoy an Aperol Spritz or glass of wine before making your way through mouthwatering Roman pizza, fresh cold cuts, a sit-down pasta meal, gelato, and much more!

Starting in the beating heart of Trastevere, at the trendy Piazza Trilussa, you’ll meet your friendly local guide and foodie companions for the day. Then it’s time to work your way from traditional to experimental, starting with anything from a freshly baked suppli filled with oozing cheese and steamy rice to the crunchy, Roman-style slices of pizza al taglio. Choose your slice, priced by weight, with anything your hungry eyes desire.

A curving symphony of St. Peter’s stones and ivy-covered stucco palazzi await you in Trastevere. This neighbourhood truly is a modern international hub of people, food, and culture within the Eternal City where folks can taste new, trendy foods and traditional Italian flavours with a twist.

Take a break from traveling the city’s new “world” with a comfortable meal in a local trattoria. After your street food pilgrimage, a true Italian feast awaits. Seated outside in the midst of the lively streets, enjoy a traditional meal of your choice of pasta such as cacio e pepe, made with Rome’s favourite pecorino cheese, and amatriciana. No matter what you choose, we will pair it with the ideal local wine for as you eat like a local.

After more than a dozen tastings around this architecturally stunning neighbourhood, you’ll feel you’ve fully immersed yourself in Roman cuisine and culture.

Linger for a while with a glass of wine and good conversation to boot, until you’re ready to end the evening–or start it.

This tour gives you the opportunity to pick the brains of our expert foodie guide to gain an understanding of Italian culture and traditions. You’ll also experience life as the Romans do on a typical evening out, soaking up the buzz of the crowds at lively wine bars and atmospheric, alfresco restaurant tables.

My husband and I, along with our adult daughter, did a private walking food tour. It was amazing. Sara, our guide, was very personable and expertly introduced us to a delicious variety of local favorites. We tasted the fried artichokes in the Jewish Ghetto (amazing), pizzas, cheeses, fried cod, and meats. We ended up at a Trastevere restaurant for a meal of capers salad, prosciutto, and melon, cacio e Pepe, and tripe. Wine was included at some of the stops. What a great way to learn about various areas of Rome, culture, and history through food! Loved this tour!
