What you'll do

Experience Florence like a local as you wander off the beaten track and see the authentic side of Florence. You will even get to try the best local foods and wines on your way.

This is a 3 hr walking tour around the markets and backstreets of the city centre to taste the best local street food. We have designed a tour that combines the culinary experience of Florence with history, arts and handicraft. We start from the Sant’Ambrogio market, a real Florentine spot unknown by the tourists, and the perfect location to learn about local cuisine and cooking habits. During the Sant’Ambrogio market tour, your guides will point out the seasonal products, explaining traditional recipes and engaging with the vendors to discuss the daily products on sale. The market offers many options, such as the classic crostino nero, pecorino cheese and salami coming from the surrounding hills of Tuscany.

However, the tour is not just about eating – you’ll also learn about history, traditions and local handicraft. The itinerary has been carefully designed in order for you to taste the most traditional street food specialties of Florence, such as the fried coccolo with stracchino cheese and the challenging panino al lampredotto, probably the most beloved by the locals.

The tour ends on the other side of the Arno river (near Ponte Vecchio) with a final treat: a seasonal dessert with a glass of Vin Santo wine is a perfect end to wrap up the foodie experience and take a  moment to share with travellers the best tips for the rest of their stay in town.

This tour runs from March to December, Monday to Saturday, starting at 10:30am. The meeting point is Piazza Croce.

I also like surfing, snowboarding, playing soccer and…rock’n’roll!
