What you'll do

Step foot into a tranquil and idealistic Lappish winter wonderland for an enchanting experience at Santa's Toy Factory. The Elves will encapsulate your imagination and lead you into a winter dream, perfect for a family experience!

Escape from the ordinary to take in the authentic beauty of the blanketed snow-white Lappish forest. Nestled deep in a secret woodland world, you will come across Santa’s Special Toy Factory. Bring your family’s Christmas fairy tail to life with this mystical and bespoke experience that you don’t want to miss!

Discover the secrets of factory from the personable Elves and meet the magical Santa Claus! Treat your family to an elf-guided tour of the factory, interactive activities, outdoor games with the elves, and a private meeting with Santa Claus! Each child will be given their very own personal gift, making their experience as memorable as possible. You will even get to enjoy a novel toy factory training in the traditional setting of a lappish teepee! Your family’s faces will gleam with smiles as they enjoy every moment and you can relax whilst sipping a hot drink by the warmth of a glowing fire.

Location

Discover the Santa Claus Secret Forest in Joulukka, an exclusive destination where you will experience the utmost of the festive season.

Situated a few kilometres from the capital of Lapland, Rovaniemi, in beautiful northern Finland. The Secret Santa Claus Forest is offgrid, deep within the arctic forest, offering a truly authentic and memorbale experience.

Joulukka was built on private land, on the shore of Sierijärvi-lake, in the middle of Lapish forests providing magnificent scenary. The venue is made from local wood, stone and logs with water sourced from a bespoke well making it a very authentic destination. Our visitors are encouraged to embrace Joulukka’s close connection to the nature that surrounds it.

The experience begins at 10:00 am

There are various dates in December 2023 ( please see booking calendar) and the last date of the season is 11 January 2024.

Where are your pick-up locations for Rovaniemi?

How do I know where I need to be and when?

Pick-up time and pick-up locations are confirmed upon reservation. It will be approximately 10 am.
Please make sure that you are at the right place at the correct local time. It is good to be there approximately 10 minutes before the time.

Can I provide information of my family in advance?

As you are attending one of our delightful Group Tours, during the transportation, you will have the chance to fill in special forms with the names of your children and their most special Christmas wishes. This information will be used for a truly personal experience.

What's the difference between Group Tours and Private Tours?

This is a group tour. Group Tours are experiences shared by multiple families, whom we collect from specific pick up points around Rovaniemi. There can be 4-60 participants per experience depending on how many people have purchased places for that program.

Private Programs are organised for one family/party exclusively guaranteeing the full attention of the elves ( please see details of the Private Santa Claus experience listed on the website

What should I wear?

As the experience is located deep in the forest area, temperatures might be colder than in the city so we do recommend dressing warm. Our experiences do not include thermal clothing but there are companies in the Arctic Circle and city centre area where you can rent thermal clothing if needed.

Some tips for dressing in the cold weather that you might find useful:

- Dress in layers. Use many thin, warm layers rather than a few thick layers. It will insulate better and allow you to strip off some layers if the temperature climbs. Staying dry is the top priority.

- Add a first layer consisting of a comfortably light fabric that will remove the sweat away from your body. Avoid pure cotton, linen, or other similar materials, however, because these fabrics retain moisture and will chill you down. The best material is synthetic fiber.

- Next layer should be a knit sweater, sweatshirt, or fleece. This layer is to keep you warm. Also, a warm tracking suit will do or the latest trend of one-piece overalls.

- Thick socks (best thing would be to wear 1 thin and 1 or 2 thick pairs of socks on top of each other)

- Thin under gloves (best material is fleece).

Is the Secret Forest wheelchair accessible?

As the experience is in the forest, sometimes outdoor areas can be quite tricky to access with a wheelchair. However, wider forest paths and some of our venues are wheelchair accessible. Please contact our customer service for further assistance.

What is the age range for a child?

A child ticket is between 2-12 years old

Can I arrive to Santa Claus Secret Forest with my own car?

You will not be able to find the Secret Santa Claus Forest as it is off grid! The experience includes return transport so you won't need to worry about getting there.

Do I need to print out the confirmation of the booking and bring it with me to the experience?

There is no need for printing off confirmation. However, please make sure you have the booking confirmation on your electronic device in case we would need to confirm your details.

What languages are offered?

Our primary guaranteed language of the program is always English. However, we can offer Spanish, French, German, Italian, Russian, Chinese, and other languages on a preliminary request and based on our availability.

Can I take pictures in Santa Claus Secret Forest – Joulukka with my own camera?

Yes, of course! You can take as many pictures as you want with your own camera of your unforgettable Christmassy adventure, Santa Claus, and other magical creatures of Santa Claus's Secret Forest.

Do children receive a gift from Santa Claus?

Every child will always receive a toy from Santa Claus!

Do the experiences include food?

This experience does not include food.

Can I buy souvenirs from Santa Claus Secret Forest – Joulukka?

There are not any shops at the Santa Claud Secret Forest but every child always receives an authentic toy from Santa Claus.
