What You'll Do

Fresh air, country walks, cosy log fires and a welcoming local pub – the perfect winter break for those looking to get off the beaten track to explore the stunning Yorkshire countryside.

Enjoy two cosy nights in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, staying in a traditional country pub complete with flagstone floors, roaring fires and comfy bedrooms.

Relax with a hot drink (or something stronger!) on arrival before spending the evening enjoying a meal from the hearty menu (dinner not included).

The following day, embrace the fresh Yorkshire Dales air on a guided walk from your door. Your guide, Matt, will help you to get the most out of your visit, taking you on one of the most scenic walks in the area and telling you the stories of the history and geology of the Dales. He’ll provide hot drinks and snacks from small local producers to keep energy levels up during the walk!

Arrive back in Buckton in time to have a well-earned lunch (not included) and spend the afternoon relaxing or exploring the area. Suggestions of things to see and do nearby will be provided.

Walking Day

Your walking guide, Matt, will meet you at the Buck Inn at 10am (or agree a different time to suit you) from where you will head out to explore one of the most beautiful parts of the Yorkshire Dales.

There are walk options of varying levels, including scrambling around the waterfalls of Buckden Gill to reach the summit of Buckden Pike; taking the stunning ‘Head of Wharfedale circuit’ through fields and villages, along riverside, over stepping stones and around the head of the valley for stunning views stretching all the way down Wharfedale; or enjoying a gentle riverside stroll along the river to the neighbouring village and a return through classic Dales farmland.

Arrive back in time for a late lunch (not included) and an afternoon at leisure (again recommendations for nearby places to visit will be provided).
