Arrival Day

Enjoy the scenic country lanes along Wharfedale as you travel to Buckden, a tiny village nestled in stunning countryside at the head of the valley.

Settle into a traditional country pub where you can relax with a complimentary drink by the roaring fire before settling into your room and enjoy the pub’s delicious food for dinner.

After a good night’s sleep in the peace of Wharfedale, wake up to a hearty breakfast to set you up for a day out in the fresh air of the Yorkshire Dales.

Your walking guide, Matt, will meet you at the Buck Inn at 10am (or agree a different time to suit you) from where you will head out to explore one of the most beautiful parts of the Yorkshire Dales.

Relax over a final leisurely morning in Buckden and a last breakfast at the Buck before returning home.

Matt is a qualified ‘Hill and Moorland Leader’ with Mountain Training and loves nothing more than pulling on the hiking boots and exploring everything the Dales has to offer. He would love to help you get the most out of your trip to the Dales.

Location

The easiest way to access Buckden from the South is by car. To arrive by public transport, the nearest train station is Skipton and we can help to arrange taxis to and from there (40 minutes, £35 in each direction)

The accommodation for both nights is at the Buck Inn in Buckden, upper Wharfedale – a traditional country pub with flagstone floors and roaring fires, a warm welcome and delicious food.

Buckden is a small village of traditional stone cottages tucked into the foot of Buckden Pike at the top of Wharfedale, surrounded by beautiful Yorkshire Dales scenery.
