What You'll Do

Who says you can't have luxury and get back in touch with nature? In this stunning woodland suite in Yorkshire, take the time to truly unwind in perfect seclusion, with nothing but the sounds of the surrounding forest accompanying you on your getaway.

In days gone by Yorkshire was at the heart of the world’s wool trade, supplying the finest products money could buy. Abraham Moon is one of the few suppliers still going strong after 175 years – we love their gorgeous tweeds still produced in Yorkshire. This suite pays homage to them.

The suites are inspired by the people and places of this fascinating county – the Woodland suites all have a cosy sitting room with a double sofa bed, large bedroom with kingsize bed and a wood burner, second bedroom with bunk beds and of course a spacious bathroom with bath and separate walk in shower.

With an impressive bedroom, bathroom and sitting room these versatile suites are perfect for couples looking for unique accommodation, and if you can’t leave the kids at home this one can cleverly accommodate up to 6 people.

Does this suite not have the availability you were hoping for? Take a look at the other options, all of which provide the same wonderful privacy and that feeling of really getting away from it all.

Your Local Host:

Christian and Carolyn

Christian and Carolyn are multi award winning designers, (Christian a former landscape architect and Carolyn trained in Fashion). Six years ago Carolyn and Christian put urban life behind them and decided to change the face of British Glamping forever! Their unique, woodland camp put 4 poster beds and roll-top baths into safari style vintage tents.

They are inspired by Christian’s North American heritage and his Canadian grandmother’s tales of the American Great Camps – rustic, wilderness retreats, more akin to woodland hotels. The couple were keen to recreate the magic of these camps, in a rugged Yorkshire setting and the result is a serene and indulgent escape from the pressures of 21st century life.

Since escaping urban life 12 years ago, both Christian and Carolyn have since become passionate advocates of country life – they live on the edge of the North York Moors with their 4 children, two dozen hens and Binny, the Border terrier.

They're looking forward to welcoming you to their stunning woodland suites!

Location Information

The woodland hideaway is situated on the boundary of the East Riding of Yorkshire and North Yorkshire, midway between York and Hull.

The nearest stations are either Beverley or Brough – if travelling from London change at Doncaster and take the Hull train. You will then need to take a 10 minute taxi ride from either station to the site.

Set in secluded woodland with no sign of modern civilisation in sight, this is the perfect place for you to truly switch off from the outside world and achieve that feeling of true escapism.

FAQs

Yes – Each suite is nestled in the woodland at least 25 metres from its neighbour.

Yes! – The suites are open all year, they are thoroughly insulated and have radiators in the bathroom and wood burners in the bedroom.

Arrivals are usually between 4pm and 7pm and departure is at 10:30am.

The woodland is a rugged environment and we aim to tread lightly on it. You will find stoned paths instead of tarmac and low level lighting at night. We recommend packing outdoor clothes and wellies and also slippers for inside the suites. A torch will also be handy.

We’re sorry but we aren’t able to take pets. This is a condition imposed upon us by the landowner to avoid disruption to wildlife.
