Immerse yourself in the natural landscape like never before, as you explore the stunning coastline and learn to forage for edibles, before enjoying an incredible meal made with the freshest possible local ingredients.
You’ll meet at a prearranged point with your guide Matt, who will start the day by leading you to the shoreline, characterised by wild beaches and dramatic cliffs, to search for the edibles that hide in rock pools and along the strandlines of the beach.
Reconnect with a way of life that our ancestors would have known in the past, as you learn about and search for the ingredients you would never have thought of in the past. This is a wonderful way to appreciate the ecosystems that surround us, as well as the delicate balance that exists within them that must be protected by living with them in a sustainable, responsible way.
After exploring the coast, head inland up a local estuary to gather edible plants, before stopping for a break, some lunch, and a cup of tea.
For most of the afternoon, you will explore the woods and the hedgerows that conceal edible fungi, and discover your appreciation for the natural landscape changing as you uncover the rich variety of life that it supports.
After a wholesome day collecting fresh ingredients from this corner of Pembrokeshire, you’ll head back for dinner where your spoils will be paired with wonderful local ingredients, for a totally unique dining experience.

One of the most memorable days and meals ever. Our foraging day started with the best weather Wales has to offer. We met with another couple at Matts cottage and the 4 of us went on a real foraging adventure. Being keen cooks and budding foragers we were very keen to increase our knowledge of sea and saltmarsh plants and their uses. We were not disappointed. Matt really cares about the environment and teaches how to harvest in an ecological sound way without damaging the delicate plants and their habitat . The seaweed harvest was enough for a memorable meal and the different flavours truly astonishing. The saltmarsh plants were an eye opener with intense and unexpected flavours. Everything was rounded off with one of the most memorable meals we ever had. 10 courses of absolute delight focusing on local ingredients. We loved the sometimes unexpected ingredients and combinations that will lift the most jaded palate. I can truly say that we have rarely enjoyed a meal as much as this one. We are already planning to be back for spring next year to see what nature has to offer in different seasons. Thank you Matt for a brilliant foraging day and incredible meal.

An exceptional guided foraging experience. Matt met us at the beginning of the day and was immediately warm and welcoming, as he explained what we'd be experiencing through the day. We visited coastal areas and woodland gathering a variety of wonderful wild produce along the way. Throughout he was keen to inform and teach us about the foods available from the sea and land. Who'd have thought that seaweed could taste so good.

After our day foraging we went back to Matt's "outdoor" restaurant where we were able to get warm and enjoy the fruits of our day's work along with other ingredients that Mat had sourced locally, including a beautifully dressed lobster each! Matt's skill in the field is matched with his skill in the kitchen. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. I would highly recommend this foraging experience. We will be booking for another day next year.
