Take a step back in time and experience the deliciously slow, laid-back lifestyle of rural Vietnam on a journey to the small, charming village of Binh Phuc.
Aside from the magnificent ancient buildings, the shady pagodas and spiritual communal halls, Hội An’ countryside, with its restful, rustic charm, holds many hidden gems for you to discover. On this tour, you’ll be getting off Hội An’s well-beaten tracks, to see a side to the beautiful town many don’t get to experience.
We’ll pick you up from your Hội An accommodation and head to the village of Binh Phuc. You’ll be welcomed by your host, the headman of the village, who will be eager to share with you the rural lifestyle 5-generations of his family have lived through.
We’ll head to an ancient pagoda, built 300 years ago, steeped in spiritual calm and shroude in a cloud of incense smoke. Meet the wise monks that inhabit the grounds, interact with them, and if you’re lucky you might even find yourself blessed.
Not only will they share their experiences with you as monks today, but they will also shed some light on the various twist and turns of their religion’s history in Vietnam, giving you a historical insight not available to your average tourist.
Spend an hour with a senior monk on this guided tour of the pagoda, and join in with traditional practices and perhaps even a meditation session on an experience truly like no other. Then, it’s time for an exquisite vegetarian lunch at the pagoda, as you unwind, relax, and allow the atmospheric beauty of the site to rejuvenate you.
Then, head to the villages on a scooter, and enjoy the local activities that are taking place that specific day. Whether it’s children playing traditional games, whether it’s joining the locals in gardening or farming, this is an immersion in rural Vietnamese culture like no other.
As the afternoon goes on, we’ll discover Hội An’s beautiful white sand dunes, the sweet-scented pine forest, and picturesque vegetable gardens holding an abundance of exotic riches.
Learn how the farmers cultivate and take care of their crop, and head to a resident’s house where you will have to refresh, enjoy a local herbal massage, before enjoying a cozy dinner with your host to top off an incredible day, where you have truly experienced a new culture.
