GoLearnTo features on ‘Something to Declare’
The Independent newspaper’s Something to Declare podcast was recorded a couple of weeks ago at Stanford’s travel book shop in Covent Garden, London. Simon Calder, Travel Editor of the Independent invited me along to be interviewed for the programme by Ben Ross of the Independent and Francis Duke from ABTA.
The programme had a hispanic flavour and was supported by the Spanish Tourist board so I was asked about GoLearnTo’s Spanish Language courses across Spanish speaking countries as well as all of our other learning holidays from surfing, scuba diving, dancing and cooking on holiday.
Francis also spotted that these holiday courses are perfect for the independent single traveller as they give singles the opportunity to meet new people, share a common interest and have fun but also gives you complete independence and flexibility to go off and do your own thing if you wish – the best of both worlds!
And finally, I was asked along with all of the guests where my favourite Spanish speaking destination was… and for me it had to be Costa de la Luz. Where would yours be?
I spent a glorious holiday there learning to kite surf, practicing my Spanish with the locals, watching Flamenco dancing, wandering around the stunning cities of Seville, Cadiz and Jerez and watching the famous horse racing along the beach. Kite surfing is not for the faint hearted, it’s a thrilling sport, adrenaline levels soar as did I when the wind took me and my 5m kite out to sea quite unexpectedly!
