Cultural Canberra – Two Day Experience

Summary

A fascinating overnight journey to the nation’s capital, Canberra, including extensive visits to the National War Memorial Museum and the National Gallery

Travelling in a private, air-conditioned vehicle with your personal guide, we will make our way by road to the nation’s capital of Canberra for lunch and an afternoon of sightseeing. Capital of Australia since 1927, the city is often missed by international visitors, but is always lauded by those who make the journey. In addition to seeing many of the sights of the city – Lake Burley-Griffin, the High Court, the Old Parliament Building, and learning something of Australia’s recent history, we will make an extensive visit to the National War Memorial Museum, one of the world’s finest and a must for anyone with an interest in military history. We’ll also take a drive to the top of Mount Ainslie, high above the capital, for stunning late afternoon views of this beautiful city and its environment. Overnight accommodation will be at a quality city hotel, and I am happy to make reservations at the restaurant of your choice.

On the morning of day two, we’ll begin with a guided tour of Australia’s Federal Parliament, before a visit to the National Gallery of Australia, which has an extensive collection of indigenous and colonial Australian art. Later in the afternoon, we make our way back to Sydney and finish at your accommodation.
