What You'll Do

Cook like a local and prepare an authentic, 'Catalan' paella under the guidance of a professional chef, then enjoy the fruits of your labour with an excellent selection of Spanish wines.

At the Born to Cook kitchen near the Basilica de Santa Maria Del Mar, waits a unique opportunity to learn how to prepare a traditional Spanish meal under the guidance of a professional chef.

We’ll show you how to select and prepare the freshest, highest quality ingredients, from rice to seafood, and create the highest quality paella on earth from scratch.

You will prepare a complete menu of 5 different courses: Gazpacho and Patatas Bravas as starters, Baked Onion Carpaccio with Xató Sauce and Seafood Paella as mains, before finishing with the traditional Catalan dessert, the Catalan Cream.

Enjoy a small-group tour for a truly personalised experience, and share good memories of your cooking journey whilst you enjoy the paella you cooked, paired with a selection of excellent Spanish wines.

PLEASE NOTE THESE ARE PREMIUM SMALL GROUP TOURS.  PRIVATE TOURS CAN BE ACCOMMODATED ON REQUEST.

Your Local Host:

Ignasi Zarzoso

When it comes to travel and favourite places, his philosophy is 'it’s not about the place, it’s about the experience'. Ignasi does have a few favourite places though... one being his hometown of Barcelona. He has fond memories of Barcelona and would encourage anyone who visits to get lost walking in the streets - definitely the best way to discover the city. His other favourite place is Sri Lanka, having visited recently and loving that parts of the island are still virgin to mass tourism. Ignasi and his fabulous team make sure to only offer tours in small groups so that everyone’s experience is more personal. They don’t use umbrellas or microphones but instead make sure that they get to know the guests and show them the way of the local - not just the main tourist attractions. They also strive to do things differently by using more exciting ways to explore like using premium electric bikes or even offering helicopter and hot air balloon rides. The team are experienced local advisors -not large corporate tour operators. They can't wait for you to experience their city with them from a local perspective!
