This group Spanish language course is the ideal option for those looking to rapidly increase their Spanish language skills, meet other like-minded travellers and have fun in Barcelona.

This 20-hour Spanish course runs from Monday to Friday each week with 4 hours of Spanish lessons per day either in the morning or the afternoon. Language students can begin any Monday of the year no matter the Spanish level so any future holiday date can be accommodated.

Trained native Spanish teachers are committed to making a supportive learning environment and constructing lessons that focus on the four language skills – reading, writing, speaking and oral comprehension.

Spanish lessons will incorporate technology with smart TVs in the classroom to make sure lessons are dynamic and fun. The language school also organise cultural and social activities throughout the week giving you the opportunity to meet new people, experience the city and put your new language skills into practice.

Day 1-5

A Typical Day

– The course is from Monday through to Friday each week
– Students will be assigned either morning or afternoon sessions (based on the school’s organisation and, unfortunately, students cannot state a preference)
– Morning sessions are from 9:30am to 1:30pm
– Afternoon sessions are from 2:30pm to 6:30pm
– Students will have 4 lessons per day lasting 50 minutes each
– There are 2 coffee breaks in each timetable

What can I do in my free time?
– The school offers 4 optional social & cultural activities each week to learn more about local culture, practice Spanish outside the classroom and socialized with classmates and locals
– Activities include city tours, salsa and flamenco classes, academic workshops, student meals and bar nights

Where can I stay?
You’re welcome to make your own arrangements so you can pick accommodation to suit your needs, however, optional accommodation can be booked in addition to your language course with a local host family or in a shared apartment with other students and locals. You can simply add your preferred option to your booking (for an additional charge) and more information about the two options can be found in the FAQs section at the bottom of the page.

Taxis are easily available at the airport. A typical taxi is between €30 and €35 to the city centre.

FAQs

- The language school is open year round so students can arrive any time, even during Christmas holidays
- Spanish lessons run from Monday to Friday each week
- If you choose to book the optional accommodation, you will arrive on the Sunday before the course and depart the Saturday after the course finishes
- Students can stay more than one week so if you would like to stay longer, please get in touch

- Students should arrive at 8:30am on their first day of class to sit for a written and oral placement exam
- The academic staff will use the test results to place you in a group of students with the same Spanish level

Individual lessons during holidays will be rescheduled. For group classes, 2 extra hours of class will be offered to compensate during weeks with one holiday. For weeks with two holidays, students taking 20 lessons per week will receive 6 extra hours of classes as compensation.

This language school offers optional accommodation in a host family or a shared apartment with other students and locals. You can simply add your preferred option to your booking.

Host family

Choose a home stay with a local family to enhance your language learning experience. All hosts are sociable, like to meet new people and can give a warm welcome to students giving you the opportunity to practice your language skills on a daily basis. You will have your own private room and will share a bathroom. Rooms are safe, clean and are all inspected and approved by the school on a regular basis. You will have a choice of booking bed and breakfast or bed, breakfast and dinner and room prices run from Sunday evening before your course starts to the Saturday morning after your course has finished. There is WiFi and bedding and towels are provided as well as one load of washing per week. If you have any special requests such as non-smoking, no pets, allergies and so on, please contact us. These requests will be accommodated where possible but cannot be guaranteed. PLEASE NOTE: special diets will incur a supplement of €30 per week. Use of the kitchen is not allowed.

City Centre Shared Apartment

Stay in an apartment shared with other students or locals. You will have your own room and will share a kitchen and bathroom. Rooms are safe and clean and all apartments are regularly inspected by the school. There is WiFi and a washing machine and bedding and towels are provided. Prices are based on arrivals on the Sunday evening before your course starts and end on the Saturday morning after your course has finished. All apartments are within a 20 minute walk to the school. Please note that students are required to keep all common areas clean.
