A Typical Day
Please note this itinerary is for guidance only and may change according to the weather and availability of ingredients
Monday
8:30-10:55am: Start your week with a level test followed by two group Spanish classes
12-2pm: Your first cooking activity – an introduction and presentation by the chef and the students
5pm: A guided walk through the historical old part of Cadiz to learn about the places of interest in the city
Tuesday
9:15-10:55am: Two group Spanish classes
12-2pm: Spanish cooking course – focus on traditional cooking with a visit to the square to see the vegetable, meat and fish stands
8pm: A guided visit to the Manzanilla Tavern to learn about the aging of the Jerez and Sanlucar wines, wine tasting included
Wednesday
9:15-10:55am: Two group Spanish classes
Afternoon: Free afternoon and evening to spend as you wish or feel free to join a school activity
Thursday
9:15-10:55am: Two group Spanish classes
12-2pm: Spanish cooking course – focus on traditional Spanish stews and soups
5-6pm: Andalucian Confectionery Workshop, where you will prepare traditional sweets from the region
Friday
9:15-10:55am: Two group Spanish classes
12-2pm: Spanish cooking course – focus on meats and side dishes from the Cadiz province
8-9:30pm: Enjoy some of the best tapas in Cadiz as you visit the most popular restaurants in town
Saturday
9am: Optional trip to Jerez de la Frontera to visit a historic wine cellar to taste their range of fine wines, followed by tapas in a traditional bar in the city
What can I do after the language lessons?
– The school offers 8 hours of FREE optional cultural and social activities and seminars throughout the week
– You will have the chance to take part in different activities such as visits to local sights & monuments, tapas tours, film nights and excursions on 3 Saturdays per month
– You will also have plenty of free time to explore the local area and practice your new found language skills or just kick back and relax on this learning holiday with a difference
Where can I stay?
You’re welcome to make your own arrangements so you can pick accommodation to suit your needs, however, optional accommodation can be booked in addition to your language course with a local host family or in a shared apartment with other students and locals. You can simply add your preferred option to your booking (for an additional charge) and more information about the two options can be found in the FAQs section at the bottom of the page.
