Greater Kruger National Park
We depart Johannesburg as we make our way to the Greater Kruger National Park where our Safari adventure begins. After travelling through the Highveld farmlands, we descend the Drakensberg Escarpment and into the Lowveld, home to some of the most pristine Private Game Reserves in South Africa and the world-renowned Kruger National Park. We arrive at Thornhill Safari Lodge in time for a delicious lunch.
After some relaxation time, we venture out on a late afternoon/evening Big Five game drive in open 4×4 Safari vehicles in one of the neighbouring Private Reserves. We take a break for Sundowner drinks and snacks at one of the waterholes en route enjoying the sights, sounds and smells of the African Bushveld before continuing our game drive into the night.
Located within the Guernsey Private Nature Reserve and forming part of the Greater Kruger Park ecosystem, Thornhill offers comfortable accommodation in authentic thatched roof chalets. Vibrant fabrics and local hardwood furniture all create that rustic yet stylish bush atmosphere. Sit back and relax in our Bar/Lounge area or sip cocktails around the swimming pool and treetop viewing deck overlooking the Drakensberg Mountain Range and never-ending wilderness.
