What You'll Do

Head out into the Scottish wilderness with your driver/ guide Ian to find some of the most majestic wildlife in the UK, including seals, dolphins, otters and incredible bird species on a tour that gets you properly off the beaten track.

Starting from Fort William, this tour is focused on finding some of Scotland’s best-loved species, we will first stop off to visit the red squirrels at the forestry hide near Corran and then cross Corran ferry to Ardgour on the Ardnamurchan peninsula.

Our next stop will be to look for the seals, which have often hauled themselves out on the rocks on Loch Linnhe as you drive by. Then, taking the road less travelled along to Kingairloch, we will be looking for deer on the hills and otters on the seashore, not forgetting the feral goats that feed on the seaweed.

You can expect to see many different species of birds which will vary depending on the time of year but this tour regularly comes across divers, mergansers, eider ducks, white-tailed eagles and even golden eagles from time to time. It’s not uncommon to see porpoise along the seafront and, occasionally, the local dolphins perform a swim past. Everyone comments on the deafening silence, and a sense of being truly out in the wilderness.

The return journey provides spectacular views of Ben Nevis and another opportunity to look out for the local seals.

An amazing taste of the wildlife and nature of this spectacular area of Scotland.
