What You'll Do

Explore some of the stunning surrounding countryside of Edinburgh on two wheels, from the iconic dormant volcano of Arthur's Seat, to a "Secret Garden" that lies a little more off the beaten track.

You’ll start your cycling tour from the west side of the city, following the Union Canal and heading through Bruntsfield Links, a public golf course, the second oldest golf course in the world.

Following the route, you’ll pass through the Meadows Park to reach the famous dormant volcano, Arthur’s Seat, which looms dramatically over the entire city.

Cruise round a 360° loop of the site, then reach the “Secret Garden” (Duddingston Village) where you can stop for a wee break beside the magnificent Duddingston Loch, surrounded by the ancient village that was settled in the 14th century. After the “pit stop”, your guide will take you back to the Old Town along the famous “Innocent Railway Path”.

Get out of the city centre and away from the tourists on two wheels as you cycle to Edinburgh's hidden gems

Discover the iconic Arthur's Seat on beautiful trails around the dormant volcano

Explore the ancient villages on the outskirts of Edinburgh for an off the beaten track experience

He has been riding, guiding and exploring in the European Alps for nearly a decade and also more recently around much of Scotland since moving to Edinburgh 5 years ago. You’ll struggle to find anyone with as much enthusiasm for finding new trails as Riccardo and as a keen mountaineer you won’t find anyone more experienced and capable to show you the wild places he loves.

Location Information

Your experience begins on the west side of the city, and your exact meeting point and time will be specified on your booking voucher.

You’ll then head towards Arthur’s Seat, situated to the south west of the city, and explore some of the lesser known outskirts of Edinburgh before returning to the start point of your tour after around 2.5 hours of cycling.
