What You'll Do

Discover the quaint smuggler's village of Portpatrick and Scotland’s most southerly point the Mull of Galloway, on a unique private tour that gets you out of the city and to some of the more offbeat attractions this stunning area has to offer.

Leaving Ayrshire behind in the early morning, you’ll take one of the most scenic routes in Scotland to the Rhins of Galloway. Enjoy the view of the Ailsa Craig, (also known locally as Paddy’s Milestone).

An island and bird sanctuary, it is set majestically in the outer Firth of Clyde, 10 miles west from the mainland, as you travel south on the beautiful coastal route.

The Rhins of Galloway is a hammerhead peninsula in Dumfries and Galloway, stretching more than 25 miles from the north to the south.

Around midday, you’ll stop at the picturesque fishing village of Portpatrick, a once-famous haunt for smugglers, and cut into the side of the cliffs that protect it.

Take a leisurely walk up to see the ruins of Dunskey Castle, which offers breathtaking views of the Irish Sea, or enjoy a bite to eat in one of the local pubs or hostelries, famed for their incredible seafood dishes. This tour is a truly unique look and a great experience on any Scottish activity holiday.

I believe I have a unique approach to Scottish Tour Guiding, as I not only offer the historical facts, timelines etc., but I am a great storyteller. I marvel at Scottish history, Kings and Queens, murder, corruption and all the folklore embroiled in some wonderful stories. I bring these tales to life and enjoy the pleasure my guided private Scotland tour groups get from our Scottish adventures.

In addition, I always travel in full authentic highland dress, and you will be treated to a few traditional Scottish tunes on the bagpipes, at selected locations.

We did a tour from Grenock to Luss, Inverary castle, Kilchurn, Falls of Falloch. Graeme was fabulous with his kilt and bagpipes. We had a stop at at a picturesque point where he poured us all a dram and played his pipes. It was really nice. We saw many things and Graeme was very good with his history and explanations of the things we saw. You will not be disappointed booking anything with him. One of the best private tours we have been on.
