What You'll Do

Step into a fantasy world of magnificent architectural delight and hike through an enchanting Scottish Glen on an experience that gets you well and truly off the beaten track, and helps you discover some of the more offbeat attractions Scotland has to offer.

Your guide will meet you at your accommodation in Glasgow or Larg, then you’ll be taken to see a magnificent neo-gothic architectural delight. Mount Stuart, on the Isle of Bute, the ancestral home of the seventh Marquess of Bute, is only 33 miles from Glasgow, and can be accessed on a fantastic day tour from the city.

This Victorian masterpiece is set amid 300 acres of a labyrinth of gardens and lush woodland. Gaze upon the twelve signs of the zodiac in the majestic Marble Hall, admire the spectacular Marble Chapel and observe the fascinating astrological painted ceiling in the Horoscope Room.

Mount Stuart is arguably the finest and most extraordinary piece of domestic architecture in Britain, inspired by history, astrology, art and mythology, not a sight to miss whilst in this part of the world.

Then join your guide on an amazing Scottish adventure to Puck’s Glen, on the Cowal Peninsula, Argyll. This is recognised as one of Scotland’s most enchanting and magical forest walks.

Beware of the legendary local fairies Poca Ban and Ghillie Dhu, as you navigate through the winding woodland gorge. Immerse yourself in this fairy glen adventure, traversing over the criss cross bridges, which arch over sparkling clear rivers.

Stumble upon wonderful cascading waterfalls and explore some of the wee nooks and crannies they conceal. Breathe in the pure crisp air and the heady, woody scents you can only really find in the deepest of forests.

Puck’s Glen is not just renowned for its mystical beauty, but also for the forest wildlife that inhabits it. Look out for red squirrels, or even red deer, along with several kinds of birds as you hike through this hidden Scottish gem.

At the end of your experience, your guide will escort you back to your accommodation, to finish off a unique, wonderful day exploring Scotland.

I believe I have a unique approach to Scottish Tour Guiding, as I not only offer the historical facts, timelines etc., but I am a great storyteller. I marvel at Scottish history, Kings and Queens, murder, corruption and all the folklore embroiled in some wonderful stories. I bring these tales to life and enjoy the pleasure my guided private Scotland tour groups get from our Scottish adventures.

In addition, I always travel in full authentic highland dress, and you will be treated to a few traditional Scottish tunes on the bagpipes, at selected locations.

We did a tour from Grenock to Luss, Inverary castle, Kilchurn, Falls of Falloch. Graeme was fabulous with his kilt and bagpipes. We had a stop at at a picturesque point where he poured us all a dram and played his pipes. It was really nice. We saw many things and Graeme was very good with his history and explanations of the things we saw. You will not be disappointed booking anything with him. One of the best private tours we have been on.
