Argyll and Bute

What you'll do

Head to the pristine wilderness of the Scottish Highlands, immerse yourself in stunning nature and learn to cook using the riches of this incredible landscape to craft truly delicious, authentic Scottish meals.

You’ll be met at your prearranged meeting point, and taken deep into the wilderness of the Scottish Highlands for a culinary experience you’ll never forget.

Cairnbaan is a small Highland village on the banks of the Crinan Canal, and it’s here, beside the windswept coastline, the dramatic glens and mountain peaks stretching off into the distance, that you’ll learn to take the riches of this beautiful land and turn them into incredible feasts.

From the salmon that swell the sweeping, clean rivers, the deer that wander the hills and woods, the shellfish that cling to the crags on rockpools in the salty sea mist, there is an abundance of rich variety that is totally reflected in the food you will learn to cook.

Cairnbaan is the midway point of the Crinan Canal (the most beautiful short cut in Britain). The 9-mile canal is now a historic monument, and is still used by pleasure yachts taking this short cut to avoid going round the Mull of Kintyre.

Over your five days here, head out exploring the natural beauty of the landscape, head back in for a cooking session and a delicious, freshly prepared meal, and then settle in a local pub for a cosy end to a truly satisfying day.
