Lasagna di carciofi (artichoke lasagna) – traditional Italian recipe
This authentic Italian artichoke lasagna recipe comes from our incredible hosts at their Italian cookery school in the heart of the Tuscany, meaning it’s definitely the real deal.
Once you’ve sampled this classic main dish, you can join them for a gourmet cookery holiday in the gorgeous Tuscan countryside.
Serves: 6 to 8
- Homemade pasta
- Bechamel sauce
- Carciofi Trifolati
- Grated Parmesan cheese
1. Take a large, square or rectangular Pyrex dish and layer the bottom with the artichokes. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to around 180°C.
2. Layer pasta sheets on top of this, then cover with artichokes and then with bechamel and a handful of grated Parmesan cheese.
3. Repeat this for 3 or 4 layers, or until your ingredients have been used. Make sure to finish with artichokes and the bechamel sauce on top. Don’t sprinkle Parmesan on this layer, as it will burn in the oven!
4. Cook for 30 minutes in the oven. Serve warm and enjoy!
This is a great main dish anytime of year, and a classic Italian meal for any dinner party or standard family evening.
