Time for you to take a leisurely stroll around the city and get your bearings.
In the afternoon you will meet your guide and you will join a small group for a relaxed walk around the lesser known areas of Porto and introduce you to five unique tasting locations. You will taste important elements in the cuisines of Porto and the North of Portugal learning about the families and the history behind the restaurants, cafes, and food shops that you visit. As you explore, you will also learn about the history, architecture, and culture of Porto while you walk the streets of this beautiful city.
The hidden gems are endless, and Porto is an absolutely gorgeous city!
At Vila Nova de Gaia pier you will enter a wine cellar just across the street – The Port Wine Cellars, with a stunning viewpoint to the river and the Ribeira do Porto area.
Here, you will be invited to taste top-class wines, which are delicate and full of history.
Porto is known as the “Cidade Invicta” or Unvanquished City as throughout history it has never been defeated. The old city boundary is marked by the river Douro and its bridges. Immerse yourself in the rich history, culture and diverse heritage, of Portugal’s most important city which is itself a UNESCO World Heritage.
