A great day Bike Riding with Anton. He's a good rider and guide who not only improved my off road ability but also had a wealth of knowledge about the Algarve region and some great personal experiences to share at coffee time. The bike was awesome and there was a good provision of riding kit. All round it was a great day out on the bikes and a good guy to spend time with, felt more like riding with a mate than a commercial experience. Thank you , Magnum :)

Our family wanted to get away from the congestion and chaos of the Algarve. We found it through a very pleasant and relaxed guided bike tour in the Aljezur region.  It is important to start the tour early because it can get very hot in the region. We were lucky because on this day the temperature was relatively moderate. After a few minutes to select and adjust our bikes we were on our way. Anton, our guide, was very knowledgeable and passionate about the region, it's fauna and history. He clearly loves Portugal, particularly this area. The route took us mostly along dirt roads and paths but there were also a few sections of paved roads and some cobblestones. All along the way we were blessed with beautiful scenery, pretty little villages and homes, farmlands, abandoned buildings, and forests.  Chris and Anton ensured we were well supplied with water throughout our trip. We stopped at a "secret" lake for a swim. We were the only ones there. After cycling a little longer we stopped to lunch under a grove of trees. Chris had laid out a delicious assortment of fresh local breads, cheeses, chourisos, cold meats, melon, and almond cookies. Make sure they include the cinnamon ones, which were a hit with my family, and as far as I know can only be found in that region of Portugal. It was tough to get back onto our bikes after that but we managed.  Anton tailored our route to suit our needs and capabilities. There was one long and tough climb near the end of the ride that a few of us managed by walking our bikes. In all this was a wonderful way to see an unspoilt part of Portugal, away from the typical tourist beaten paths--a great way to sample a part of Portugal that we would not normally get to experience. I can't say enough about Chris and Anton's hospitality. They really went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed ourselves and had a memorable experience. We will be back, if only for the cinnamon almond cookies.

I've been coming to this area every summer for the past 17 years and have never seen as much of it as I have done today! Anton guided us on a FANTASTIC mountain biking tour. We were taken to secret lakes, learnt about local architecture, indigenous plants and so much more. Anton is incredibly knowledgable, charismatic and entertaining and the whole day was great fun. I might add that my sister and I are complete novices on a mountain bike (we've done the bike trail around a London park but that's about it!) yet today we both felt totally at ease, looked after on the safety-front as well as being taught how to correctly use the gears. We had the best time in the beautiful outdoors and I will definitely be back to go on a walking tour with Christine (Anton's wife) who seemed so lovely too. Cannot recommend more highly.
