Your guide will give you all the information you need, and a safety briefing before you dive into the  beautiful lake and go in search of Norway’s secret Atlantis!

Snorkel around in the fresh water and see the submerged summer farm building in the clear blue water surrounded by the steep and majestic mountains, immerse yourself in breathtaking natural scenery and a truly memorable experience!

Your Local Host:

Ingrid

My name is Ingrid and I was born and raised in the west coast of Norway – in the middle of majestic mountains and deep fjords.

I myself will always prefer the less crowded places where I can connect with nature but at the same time with the comfort of a hot shower and a great meal.

Location Information

Lyngstøylsvatnet is located in the narrow Norangsdal, only open during the summer months due to the continuous danger for avalanches after the first heavy snowfalls of winter.

Lyngstøylsvatnet came to life after a rock fell from Keipen back in 1908. This created a flood and the summer farm where they kept their cattle during summer was eventually flooded. Today you can snorkel around to see the remains of the farm, together with the old road.
