Guided Bike Ride in Scenic Sogn

From £133 pp

What You'll Do

Bike through the heart of Norway – visiting Sogn and Hafslo which offer views of the green sea and majestic mountains, and get off the beaten track to see small, authentic villages in the most untouched parts of the country.

Pick up your electric bikes and a homemade packed lunch from the host of the boutique hotel Bestebakken.

Then, jump on your bikes and go for a full day bike tour. The stunning scenery surrounds you even if you decide to just bike for a short stretch to sit down in the closest meadow you can find.

If you decide to ride further – Urnes Stave Church is waiting across the fjord you will just hop on the local ferry, and the romantic road around Skjolden hides small local cafes and shops along with dramatic mountain landscapes.

Another route you could choose goes into Veitostrond, where you have several hiking options to go and see glaciers – or just sit still in the heart of the valley and enjoy your lunch with an unforgettable view.

Your local guide will help you to decide the route you want to take and will show you the routes the locals take.

Your Local Host:

My name is Ingrid and I was born and raised in the west coast of Norway – in the middle of majestic mountains and deep fjords.

I myself will always prefer the less crowded places where I can connect with nature but at the same time with the comfort of a hot shower and a great meal.

Location Information

Your meeting point will be the Bestebakken Hotel near the town of Hafslo in Western Norway.

From Bestebakken, journey down to Solvorn where you will have the opportunity to stroll through the beautiful Solvorn town center typical for a local fjord town of Norway.

Take the ferry across to Urnes (this might be the smallest ferry that you can find in Norway!). On arrival to Urnes, your guide will take you to visit the Urnes Stave Church and tell you about the history of this beauful place. Continue further along the narrow fjord (from July – early September you can spot small self service kiosks along the way with fresh pressed local drinks – so bring cash!).

Further into the fjord, hike up to the second highest free fall waterfall in Norway Feigumfossen. It sounds like thinder when you get close – and if you get too close you can be sure that you are getting a cold water shower!

Turn the bikes around and go back to the ferry – and with the help from

  • Bike rental and packed lunch
  • Local guide
  • Ferry fee
  • Entrance to Urnes Stave Church

Bring clothes appropriate to the season – and in Norway the weather can change rapidly.
