What You'll Do

Meet the amazing Lindis at her small boutique hotel Bestebakken in a stunning lake side location. Lindis will show you around her garden and introduce you to her family of Llamas, before you head inside to learn how to make a traditional form of Norwegian griddle cakes (which you will get to eat afterwards)

Lindis has spent all her adult life together with her family renovating and restoring her husbands family home into Bestebakken – one of the most unique boutique hotels in Norway!

Lindis will greet you as you arrive and take you out to her kitchen garden where she grows vegetables, fruit, and herbs and flowers. She will introduce you to traditional Norwegian produce and explain how the different plants are used to flavour food or for their health benefits. Then she will welcome you into her Orangerie where she will teach you how to make the local griddle cakes Svele! She will share with you her tips and secret ingredients to make them just the perfect texture and flavour !

You’ll enjoy a locally sourced two course lunch whilst Lindis tells you more about local Norwegian way of life, culture, traditions and food and of course you will get to try the delicious griddle cakes!

Your Local Host:

Ingrid

My name is Ingrid and I was born and raised in the west coast of Norway – in the middle of majestic mountains and deep fjords.

I myself will always prefer the less crowded places where I can connect with nature but at the same time with the comfort of a hot shower and a great meal.
