What You'll Do

Spend a week in hidden paradise and take your yoga to the next level with this traditional Moroccan Berber style hotel. Marrakech old town is only 20 minutes away, allowing you to enjoy everything it has to offer with your very own getaway for peace and relaxation.

Your base will be just a 20-minute drive from the heart of the old city of Marrakech and the souks, spend a day exploring and shopping here or relax at the authentically designed and furnished Berber retreat hotel.

Your yoga holiday will take you from the Medina, souks and gardens of Marrakech to the town of Ouarzazate, the nearest town to the Sahara desert to see the sands dunes, driving over the Atlas Mountains to get there.  Another day you will take a  trip to explore the Atlas Mountains, go for a walk, visit a souk, Berber village and enjoy the wonderful scenery. There are days off in between to relax at the hammam, have a massage or read a book by the pool.

Base yourself at a beautiful venue on the outskirts of Marrakech and enjoy daily yoga classes,  with the opportunity to explore farther afield in this beautiful and diverse country.

You will enjoy a guided tour of the old town of Marrakech and then have time to explore this fascinating area on your own, shopping, wandering through the souks, drinking mint tea, or  you can head back to the hotel to relax.

You will enjoy a day trip to Ouarzazate, driving over the Tiz-n Tichka pass with spectacular scenic views of mountains and semi-desert terrain topped by Kasbahs and Berber houses, to reach the town on the edge of the mighty Sahara Desert.

The last day out is to the Atlas Mountains themselves, you will enjoy a guided walk through the beautiful vegetation and past rippling streams, with chance to meet with local mountain families. Explore the souks of Asni, lunch and a guide are included.

Whatever it is you decide to do, there are 3 hours of yoga a day in the outdoor yoga Shala to re-energise and revitalise throughout the week.

You will enjoy three delicious meals a day, and there are fabulous massages  and other treatments available in the spa area, which also has a Hammam and hot tub.

Accommodation:

A spacious hotel with two yoga spaces, two pools, plenty of outdoor lounging space and Moroccan courtyards, with bougainvillaea romantically spilling over from private balconies, you can spend the day here unwinding from your busy day to day life, surrounded by views of the Atlas mountains.

The main area of the hotel was built in 1840 and on the outside it appears unassuming but once inside the cool stylish vibe of the space is an unexpected surprise. There is a large heated outdoor pool and relaxation area with views of Marrakech and the Atlas mountains beyond. There are lawns, corridors and courtyards shrouded by banana palms, citrus and olive trees and the scents and colours of orange blossom and roses.

The cool, airy bedrooms are authentically Moroccan in design. They can be twin/double or single rooms with quality linen and hand woven Moroccan covers and cushions, They each have a large ensuite bathroom, a traditional seating area and many of the bedrooms have fireplaces and private terraces.

The suites are larger and have larger bathrooms, larger seating areas and private balcony or outdoor space

Yoga:

Morning session: wake up early to see the sunrise over the Atlas Mountains in the distance in our outdoor yoga shala. The practice will begin as a gentle awakening, building up to more dynamic poses – slowly building so that over the 6 days of yoga asana you find your body opening up to new depths in poses you’d never imagined; that you can settle in meditation quicker than before, that silence is something to be cherished. Feel energised and refreshed and ready for your day in the sun.

Evening session: Arrive at our fully equipped yoga shala for sunset yoga. Settle into a more restorative practice, to begin with, and once the deep rest has been satisfied with yoga Nidra and restorative poses, find more playful partner yoga being welcomed.

Food:

There are three meals a day included, lovingly prepared by local Moroccan chefs.

For breakfast enjoy fresh Moroccan coffee or tea or herbal teas and a delicious buffet spread of fruit, pancakes, Moroccan almond nut and honey butter, eggs, toast, different pastries and cakes and yoghurts.

For lunch, it is again a fabulous buffet of vegetarian and vegan dishes from baked aubergine, omelette, green salads, beetroot salads, soup of the day, different breads, fresh pizz served on the terrace with fabulous views.

For dinner, you can choose prior to joining us if you would like to have the meat or vegetarian option for the week. You will enjoy a 3-course evening meal.

FAQs

A Hammam is a steam room, similar to a Turkish bath, where Moroccans will go once a week to cleanse themselves.

We have designed our weekends and weeks for people who love yoga, whether they are beginners or have been practising for years. All our teachers are very experienced and are more than capable of adapting the classes to all levels. Our ethos is about being open & friendly, and we set up our business to spread the incredible word of yoga to people who perhaps wouldn’t have gone on a yoga retreat before. So don’t be shy, there is no time like the present to start your journey with yoga.

Of course not, we understand we all want different things. Our two-hour sessions normally also include meditation or mindfulness, so it’s worth giving it a go.
